Iberia Medical Center

Iberia Medical Center is a great place and deserves a second chance. I’ve had bad experience and excellent experience with them. But they are improving. They’re getting much better and the care is great. I’ve given birth twice in this hospital and met such kind nurses and staffs. I’ve brought in my my mom for emergency when she got burned and they took wonderful care of her and rush her so quick. Not even 3 seconds and emergency was at the cars door. I’ve brought in my daughter a couple times the last 3 years and some days she was taken seriously and some days we wait hours until she actually gets check on. But one thing for sure if it’s a true emergency they will not let you down.

One of the doctors that took care of my mom should not be allowed to take care of elderly people. He made decisions about her care without talking to us first and without knowing all the facts. He basically decided because she is old and has dementia he could make those changes to her medicine that will have a serious impact on her health. Her nurses took good care of her.

I MUST SAY. IN THE PAST. I WAS NEVER HAPPY WITH THE SERVICE OR TREATMENT AT IBERIA MEDICAL. WAIT WAS SUPER LONG EVEN WITH EMPTY WAITING ROOM. DRS WOULDNT LISTEN TO WHAT I WAS TELLING THEM.nnFAST FORWARD TO PRESENT DAY. I RECENTLY HAD TO VISIT THE EMERGENCY ROOM FOR MEDICAL REASONS. I WAS IMMEDIATELY BROUGHT TO THE BACK. IMMEDIATELY STARTED WORKING ON MY SITUATION. THE DOCTOR WAS VERY CONCERNED. LISTENED TO WHAT I WAS TELLING THEM. NURSE WERE SO NICE. HAD EMERGENCY SURGERY. FOR MY ENTIRE 3 DAT STAY. THE NURSES WERE SUPER EXCELLENT. I WOULD NOW RECOMMEND SERVICE AT THIS FACILITY. I DONT KNIW WHAT CHANGED. BUT IT WAS AN EXCELLENT CHANGE. THANK ALL OF YOU. ALL STAFF NEEDS TO BE COMMENDED.

I hear a lot of negative things about Iberia Medical, so honestly when when the ambulance came to get my mom that was not my first decision, but because no one wants to take COVID seriously but still fill up all of the beds , because everyone wants to go the hospital.Lafayette was full. The staff was amazing, they checked on my mom nonstop, they were professional, and sweet. My best friend went to a hospital in Lafayette they sent her son back home, she felt that was not the right decision she took him to IBM with uncertainty that was the best decision she made. Pray for the doctors nurses janitors etc and give it to God. I declared that this was going to be her best decision, and once I gave it to God ,the staff, and the hospital. I stop worrying. Everyone belief is different so they will have to do what works for them. I’m so sorry for everyone who had a negative experience, my heart goes out to you, but maybe they have a new staff, talk to the family member everyday if you don’t like something let it be known I can’t speak for the whole hospital but the COVID unit is on point. The only thing she did not like was the food lol, it needed season. From my experience the only thing that could improve is the greeters that work at the desk, it’s kind of a customer service aspect, I will not be to hard on them because I don’t know what they experience daily, and everyone deserves a second chance, but the customer service approach could be better, especially when the family is worried, cannot see the family, let them feel welcomed.

It’s always dirty and dinge! They leave newborns straight out of the womb in that state for hours. My grandma had a trachea and couldn’t speak and they would ignore her calls for a nurse because they failed to realize she couldn’t speak!! A sad excuse for a hospital; they could do better.
