My husband and I walked into Journeys today to purchase boots. 6 or 7 employees standing around talking and laughing amongst themselves. NOONE ever once said hello, do you need any help, or anything. We were prepared to spend money, but with no acknowledgement of us being there and after my husband walked around the store we eventually left because we were basically invisible. I guess their conversations amongst themselves was more important than customers prepared to shop.

Employee seemed more interested in helping the 2 lady's that came in that said they were just looking. I was trying to get a pair of shoes and asked 3 different times to try something on. Got tired of talking to myself and left

Overall experience wasn't good, but we did find the shoes my daughter has been looking for which sort of evened it out. We asked an associate for a specific size for the shoe she wanted and she was glad to help. We realized we needed just one size bigger, but our helper had disappeared. I asked for assistance from another associate who was standing near by, she said no, she couldn't help. After standing in line for the cashier just to get another size, a different associate figured out what we needed and helped get the new shoe. Now I'm back in line to check out and there's one cashier. The couple she was checking out asked a ton of questions, wanted additional items, and then more questions. The girl who told me she couldn't help, then got behind the counter to check out the girl she had been helping (who came in after us and she wasn't with them when I asked for assistance), after I'd already been in line for nearly 10 minutes. Her customer said that I could go first since I had already been waiting. The associate then says she can't check me out, just her. Im so confused at this point. As she's checking out her sale (I'm assuming they go by commision), the other lady who was at the counter leaves when her transaction is done. Another woman comes up and asks who's next, I begin to move forward as I've been next in line for over 15 minutes at this point. The other people in line behind me were confused by the situation as well. The first check out lady said something about how that couple had been in there for about 10 minutes for an exchange, so they were next. I was now annoyed and asked if it had to be the person who helped me to check me out. The lady who had told me no she couldn't help then said yes, thats how it worked. I responded to her that I had two girls help me already and neither one of them were no longer in the store. Her person she was currently checking out had 3-4 pairs of shoes and her card wasn't working, either of her cards to be fair. Once she decided that the shoes on sale were the ones she wanted, her card worked, then that cashier just left. The people behind me were baffled and then spoke up about not being able to check out. Finally, another girl (so we're up to 5 women now) comes from the back and rings me up. When I get the total its $40 more than the tag on the shoe! I asked her if the sale was still good and she told me that none of that type of shoe was on sale as she took off the tag. Beyond annoyed, I paid, and began to walk out. Passing by the shoes we just purchased, I told her, and essentially anyone else interested, that all of those shoes were NOT on sale, even though all the tags read the price of said sale in red and white. If it wasn't for not being able to find those shoes anywhere but at that store, we would not have been there, and now I'll never go back. I understand commission work, I've done it before, but after telling her that the people helping me were not in the store, she could've got an extra commission IMO. I know I wasn't dressed to the 9's, but just having surgery and needing a cane to walk, I was much more comfy in a big sweatshirt and comfortable pants, but that is no way to treat someone wanting to buy something in your store. I have money to spend, even willing to buy more actually (because I love the shoes), but I'll go anywhere, which i didn2 stars for the selection and shoes they have there. Just don't hope for good service unless you got hundreds hanging out of your pockets.
