Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Lakeview

My grandmother was in this facility for 14 days. NEVER once given a shower unless I personally drove 1.5 hours to give her one myself. I ask repetitively they give her a shower and change her clothes as she had a stroke and couldn’t do it. The response from the nurses and techs were “we are so busy we don’t have time to do that”. Prisoners get better care than my grandmother did. Every visit there were always 4-5 nurses and techs sitting at the desk laughing and having a good time. Sent home this morning without any DME or home health set up. If you want your family member better DO NOT SEND THEM HERE!!!

So happy that my mother was at this location. She’s been there for a week and she probably has an additional week while she’s recovering from a broken hip. The staff is so compassionate and very human. Everyone goes out of their way to make the patients feel comfortable. Three times a day of physical therapy is really helping her to gain her strength and confidence. She celebrated her birthday in this facility and All the stuff made it a special day.

I am the spouse of a patient ... found no flaws with the personel .. all i encounter was very polite and helpful .. But this was my first rodeo with a rehab facility . and the lesson i learned was to always do a tour before placement . The patients rooms are very very small and all rooms are semi private . A patient that requires a wheel- chair or even a walker can not move with out moving objects out of the way ..Accommodations failed as being handicap accessible. When being admitted .. the nurse rolled her computer bedside and began firing away with Health questions (Hipaa privacy was completely ignored ) .Later i found out you must ask for privacy when health questions are being ask and they will take you to a private area .Funny how the admittance nurse failed to give us that option..(wow ) .as for the care 3 star ..as for the admittance procedure 1 star - as for the patient rooms being suitable for a person which requires equipment for mobility terrible ... Because the therapist are 4 star .. This facility would be better as a out patient rehab due to the patient has no privacy ( semi private rooms ) too small for people with mobility issues to maneuver with out assistance to move objects just to allow them to use the restroom.. All this patient inconvenience.. Then they send you their bill ( FOR THAT MUCH MONEY DAILY ) Patients comfort should be a top priority which it is not .. My husband slept on the floor one night because the mattress provided no support and his back was hurting ... the next day i took him a memory foam top mattress cover so he could sleep .. He had only been complaining about the mattress since his admittance .. Hard to know how to rate overall - but would we use this facility again ( NO ) not for inpatient ... Would seek a faculty with private rooms .

Staff on phones are very rude, literally got hung up on and wasn't even talking for 10 seconds. Asked a question then they replied, when I tried to respond they hung up mid sentence. smh

Excellent Rehab program & I experienced the kindness, patience & the knowledge of the rehab team. I reaped wonderful benefits for getting back on my feet after a hip fracture. I lived 300 mi. away & they had everything in place for me to leave & continue my recovery at home. In 11 days post op they did a miracle.
