Janine's has been a familiar name/place amongst locals for decades. Not only is it known for its ice cream in warmer months, but they also offer a full menu with other food as well, such as hot dogs, burgers, seafood, chicken & much more! Both soft & hard ice cream is available in many flavors. Also have shakes, sundaes & even dog sundaes. Like banana splits? They have them & also a huge dessert called Brown Derby with plenty of ice cream & a brownie. They also have a children's menu here & public restrooms. Outdoor seating is available also, but it does get very busy here, especially during weekends in the Summer. Janine's also features many events such as live music, Polish night (which has both Polish food & music), classic car shows & much more! The only thing I will say about Janine's is that their prices are a tad high. Another great place that's a little less expensive for ice cream or food with outdoor seating is Howard's of West Brookfield. They also have a full menu & great ice cream, with more affordable prices. But I will say the ice cream is excellent at both places. You can order at the window & they will call your name on a loud speaker when your order is ready, or you can also call ahead here for takeout. Plenty of parking available & both restaurant + restrooms are handicap accessible.

I wouldn't usually give anyplace a 5 star review but Janine's has earned it. It's mostly fried food, but almost everything I have had from there has been fresh, affordable and most of all tasty. Chicken fingers, fried shrimp, fries, cheese curds, all the fried appetizers are awesome. Their sandwiches are great to but the steak and cheese (with extra cheese) is by far one of the best I have ever had and their pot roast poutine is a must try. Their burgers are ok, not bad and their ice cream is more than what you would usually expect. Its 100% Americana with amazing food at affordable prices and my wife, kid, dog and I love the food.

Sadly I've had to change my review from 5 to 1 stars.nnThe place is extremely packed with all the parking almost always filled. Problem is that they put almost zero effort into line management. Every single time I've tried to order food or ice cream it's 10+ people all standing randomly around all the windows. Some are in line, some are waiting, some are reading menus, and a good chunk aren't wearing masks at all.nnI've always seen the staff wearing masks, but the countless customers who refuse endanger every one else, especially when the establishment doesn't even bother to put down line markers or anything to direct customer flow.nnUntil maskless customers are turned away and lines are properly managed, Janine's Frostee is too much of a covid risk.
