hokkaido ramen & sushi bar

We went in February shortly after their grand opening and were very impressed! We love authentic ramen but have not had any since our last trip to LA years ago. This was very reminiscent of that ramen as it has fresh ingredients and lots of flavor. We’ve tried the other ramen spot in town and were very disappointed. Hokkaido was very delicious and we plan to go back soon! Service was good; it did take a bit longer to get our ramen but we had a sushi roll that was equally good delivered to our table quickly. I got the spicy miso ramen while my husband got the spicy beef. He said the actual beef bone needed a bit more flavor but loved the actual ramen. Highly recommend!

Fantastic selection of traditional Japanese appetizers and a great selection of different ramen styles. The bowl I got had generous toppings, fresh ingredients, and a very flavorful and well balanced broth.nnThey were still working out the booze menu when I went but the friendly staff was helpful and I ended up finding a decent bottle of sake to round it all off.nnI look forward to trying the rest of the menu and I think this will be a very welcomed edition to Pocatello cuisine.

The staff was friendly and attentive at lunchtime. My ramen bowl was very good. Because I sat at the bar, I was offered a complimentary chefs salad that was full of unexpected flavors. I can't wait for the Idaho Falls location to open.nnIt looked like most other patrons we're ordering the spicy beef ramen bowl, so I'll try that next time.

I don't do sushi often or ramen ever. After all, when I think of ramen, I think of what we had in college. But I can say that the sushi and ramen are absolutely fabulous. The ramen is top tier and the spicy tuna was a revelation. I never thought I would full on love Japanese food but dang. I do love it here. Will be back for more.

Awesome affordable Japanese food with a great atmosphere! I’ve eaten at all the other Asian restaurants in town and this one takes the cake for sure! Our waitress, Winter was phenomenal as well. She was fast and friendly. I will be recommending everyone to this place!!
