My wife gave birth to our first child here, and we were pleasantly surprised with the experience! The delivery room was large, and had plenty of room for me to lay down and get some rest while the baby was taking his sweet time. We had a couple wonderful nurses (one or two not-so-great ones), and we genuinely liked them being in the room with us. The recovery room was quite a bit smaller than the delivery room, but we were still extremely comfortable (or as comfortable as you can be after giving birth). The food they got us wasn't amazing, but, I mean, it's a hospital. I'd say overall it was a good experience, with helpful/kind people, but then again, I can't speak for the whole hospital, just the happy part (Labor and Delivery)!

Everyone was so helpful from reception to check in the nurses and the doctors. We travel from northern Virginia and I don't regret the travel for one minute. The doctor and his staff took their time with us. Dr. and Dr. Breton were incredibly patient with us and our many questions.

The doctors in the ER took advantage of a 19-year-old girl and performed test on her that could have waited to rule out other issues. They also prescribed a 19-year-old girl OXYcodone when she had very little pain. We now have to pay for a CT scan that should have never been done. they also then sent her home and said just wait for her cyst to burst. We also paid $2600 the next day and they never applied that credit to my account.

At first they were great. After procedure we waited for hours to be discharged, even hit the nurse call button to try and find out what was taking so long and the nurses just canceled it! Hospital is a joke!!

Took my son in for emergency care 2.5 years ago. He had been tripped and thought his wrist might be broken. Routine check and x-rays. The care was fine, but the billing was atrocious. Tried to pay at the time of service, but was told that they couldn't figure it out then and didn't know the codes. Eventually got bills from the hospital and radiology, which were paid. Didn't get statements from the doctor's practice and now, 2.5 years later, I got a notice of collections. After enough phone calls, I finally got ahold of someone at the doctor's office, who said that the hospital is now in charge of their accounts because they no longer are contracted with them. Being in health care myself, I am perfectly happy to pay for the doctor's bills--but I'm really angry that I've been charged interest on a bill for which I never received statements. Here's where my problem comes with AF hospital. In all my experience with them it is impossible to get any kind of customer service from the billing department. At various times we have asked for paperwork to submit to our insurance, and in this instance I called to discuss the interest charged to the bill. The first four times I called, the line disconnected. Finally, I asked the operator to connect me with an actual person in Billing. I got the voicemail of Nancy, and I left a message. I have not received any response. With my previous experiences, I am unsurprised. Glad I don't have to use this hospital regularly. UPDATE: It has now been 3 weeks since I first posted this and they reached out to address my concerns. I was told by the office of patient experience that my concerns would be addressed and I would be contacted about the situation. 3 weeks later and I have heard nothing. I wish it was possible to give 0 stars in these reviews. Customer service has been non-existent and they respond as if they will help you with the concerns. What a surprise! It's been nothing but lip service with no actual help.
