Tarry Tavern

This was one of the best meals that both my husband and I have had. We came here from Long Island for a small overnight getaway. Came across this restaurant and we are so happy that we did. The food was extremely fresh and absolutely delicious. Drink selection was incredible as well. Our server, Joe, was extremely nice and so was Henry who is the owner. Henry even drove us back to our hotel when we couldn’t get an Uber back. I can’t recommend this place enough!

My friend & I meet in Tarrytown regularly for dinner throughout the years & this place is consistently one of the best. Last week we unwisely decided to go to one of the bigger places near the river for the scenery, and we sat for 40 minutes without even a waiter ordering our drinks! So we left & came back here & our night was redeemed with warm friendly service, delicious food and wine list and we even got a complementary appetizer for our trouble. We love it here!

excellent food, excellent service...

Nice place with nice food. The food was great, especially the butternut squash soup. We were even offered more bread (which is rare but appreciated). Portuguese octopus was delicious; mac & cheese with crab was good. Service was a little slow, as it took a while to get the check while being outside in the cold. Solid place for a nice dinner.

Not good at all. The chowder was really good great flavor. But down hill from there. Burger no flavor what so ever and all burnt. Fries sucked kids left them there. Mac and cheese horrible. No flavor on anything really disappointed.
