American Beech

Super cute - we stayed in king suite 11 and it was pretty spacious. Awesome vibe. A little pricey. We went in March so it was pretty quiet, but you might hear noise from street / other hotel guests when sleeping. Right near town, can walk a lot of places. Also the pizza place was to die for!

Oh man, if I could give this place more stars I would. Everyone is super friendly and helpful, staff wise. The food; is... Oh my God amazing. My wife got a tuna dish and I got the Sirloin stake, which is the best I've had.nnMe and my now wife went for our Mini-moon and chose to go back for our 1 year and it was better then I remember.nnWe did spend $135.00 for two people, two cocktails, 2 entrees and 2 deserts.

Comes highly recommended by lots of Greenport listicles but I thought it was just okay. The little back street / court yard that the restaurant is in is really idyllic. However, the seating area of the restaurant takes some of that away with a plastic roof and plastic palms. Service was excellent but the food didn't meet my expectations. Pretty standard American dishes that weren't very memorable. The fried green tomatoes we're mostly breading, the burrata was too firm. Steak was a bit chewy but I kind of like that.

This is our 4th time staying with American Beech. We usually love it but this time the room (#9) was so loud we didn’t sleep well 2 nights in a row. From the loud, thumping music vibrating our room until almost 3am then the 7am leaf blowing right outside our door to the less than clean bathroom we will certainly consider staying elsewhere. Perhaps someone could have mentioned our room would be in the middle (quite literally) of very loud bar we could have reconsidered our stay or room choice. Big disappointment

The food was very good and service impeccable in the restaurant . I couldn’t get the TV to work in the room but no one answered in the reception. I called three times. The decor is good but service Is the real measure of a good hotel, they should have a folder with hotel amenities and numbers and local information in the rooms.nnresponding to hotel:nIt's a bit infuriating to be told that the info is on the bed. I did see the folder, but neither the VERY complicated TV remote programming instructions, nor the number given for the reception were working. There was an emergency number to call, which clearly said in Case of Emergency Only. I didn't think the TV not working is an emergency, just an annoyance when one is paying over 300 dollars a night. The proper response would be an apology and doing something to redress the situation.
