Great place. Beautiful place. Brand new building. Very simple fast and easy process. Within 1 hour we have met the dog Betsy B and signed the contract and are bringing home our new doggie!! The wellness clinic is a God send!

I had been fostering kittens for 6 years, until last summer when I stopped getting Any emails with need lists... Since then, both last summer and this, I've been trying to get SOMEONE return my repeated calls and emails re fostering; and all I ever get is ... a request to leave a message, with promise to call me back ASAP...nI used to have great experience when Nancy was doing the reaching out and everything else.. Since she has acquired other responsibilities, everything seems to be in disarray, and chaos.nSorry, maybe it's just my experience.... I'm almost giving up on the Shelter, and will try to find some other organizations that have the need for animal volunteers...nnUPDATE 4/7/2021nI resumed my efforts to contact the Society a few months ago, leaving multiple requests for call-backs, with no result..nI finally talked to 2 live persons yesterday, who promised me that Jillian, the current Fostering program coordinator, would call me back..nWell she just did... She Accused me, falsely, of leaving a review (SEE ABOVE FOR MY ORIGINAL POST) in which I allegedly (she claimed...) called them 'TERRIBLE people', and said 'no-one should be dealing with them'....nWhich is obviously a lie on her part, since I wrote nothing of the sort (and would never even think of using this language..)...nAs a result - SHE is Banning me from ever fostering their animals, PERIOD!nThat, despite my many years of having very successfully fostering kittens, some of whom came to me in very traumatized conditions, and who were deemed extremely healthy and well-socialized when I brought them back.nnI would never pass judgement on what kind of 'people' they are, but their authoritarian attitudes and behaviors do not seem to be geared towards the welfare of the animals, but rather depend on their personal feelings (often based on imagined slights) towards individual volunteers.nWhich is sad.... and wrong, IMO.

My family loves the MHHS and all they do for the animals and the community. Their new building is beautiful and absolutely perfect for the animals. It makes me so happy to see how well this place takes care of Albany's extra pets.

We had to surrender our Kallie Kat because she needed serious medical attention and we couldn't afford it. We thought we'd have to have her put to sleep. But they promised to try to save her and get her adopted by someone who could give her the medical attention she needs. It hurt coming home without her here, but we know she's in the best hands.
