The American Hotel - Market Yard Grille

Delicious food & heavy pours on the open bar for a celebration of a loved one's life. Service was a little slow with only 60 or so in attendance, but the food definitely made up for it. Hanger steak was fork tender & absolutely delicious! Atlantic char was equally delicious. Portions were perfect for lunch.

My husband and I were in the mood for burgers so we made a reservation at the American grille because they make good burgers. When we arrived we noticed that the bartender did not have a mask on. He didn't have it under his nose or around his chin he just did not have one on while making a drink for a customer in the restaurant. Remember we are in the midst of a pandemic and the CDC recommends that everybody wear a mask especially those working in the restaurant business. I found his attitude to be disrespectful and it puts others at risk.nSo we left their burgers not worth it. We went right next door to the court jester where they follow the CDC guidelines and they have an amazing beer selection. Good luck staying open American grill I find your attitude to be offensive

Bring back Alfredo!!!!! This used to be our favorite spot in town. We love the staff, love the service, love the atmosphere, love the wine list, and LOVED the food when Alfredo was cooking.. it used to be ammmazzzing... Everything was delicious, you could not go wrong. Unfortunately, a new chef took over the menu a few months ago and now the food is awful. We tried 3 times, determined to find at least something on the new menu we could like but it is really not good. Very sad that we cannot eat there anymore, it was our favorite. Now, I have no actual proof that Alfredo exists... But rumor around downtown Freehold is that he does, and that he still works at American Hotel. Now all we need is to put him in charge again and we will have our favorite restaurant back. Soooo... BRING BACK ALFREDO!!!! ud83dude4f♥ufe0fud83dude02ud83dude4f

Outdoor dining was great. Didn’t have a problem sitting compared to the other restaurants nearby that were super crowded. The food is much more expensive but it’s much classier and probably better ingredients. I had the ribs. They were good, but not the style I like. The eggplant was fantastic. Definitely recommend if looking for a much more upscale dining experience in Freehold Bork.
