I had been to the Black Trumpet once before last fall, and I absolutely loved it. Went again last night, and I have to say I love how they are doing the 3 courses for $55 to deal with COVID changes. My boyfriend and I feel it’s the best restaurant in Portsmouth for not only the food but also the presentation and ambiance. We will be back again!

Chef Evan cooked an extraordinary 4 course meal for us. the fixed priced menu made up for these COVID times was phenomenal. It was our first time and we will be back. The only thing We didn’t like was our server was noticeably different the moment we said we were not ordering alcohol/wine. Seeming like we were wasting her time. Somebody in our party is going thru alcohol recovery and I’m only posting this because it’s been over a week since we’ve been into black trumpet and she feels like she can’t go out without ordering alcohol or we will upset the server.
