Excellent Experience if you go on the tour!! See how Maple sugar products are made, taste some fresh and fine examples of what Ben's and staff have to offer! Maple soft serve is on point! I also enjoy the maple cream soda as well as the candies!! Keep up the great work!!

Ben is a great guy, he'll answer any and all of your questions. The tour is short but informative and seeing the evaporator running is a treat. Speaking of treats they have everything maple (try the maple cotton candy) at reasonable prices.

Thank you to Market Basket for carrying locally made items. We buy this all the time. I was having breakfast and finally paid attention to read the jug. Great product!

How Maple Syrup Evaporators WorknnDid you know…nThat it takes 40 gallons of maple sap to make one gallon of maple syrup?nMidwinter is sugaring season in the Northeast. Usually beginning in late February and ending in late April, sugaring season lasts from four to six weeks. Conditions are just right when the nights are below freezing, temperatures somewhere in the 20s – and the days are warm – around 40 degrees. The best sap producing days are those when the nights are the coldest and the days are the warmest. Maple sap is concentrated around the Sugar maple roots in the cold of night, and during the warmth of day the sap rises up the tree and out of the holes that have been tapped into the tree.nThe maple syrup producer drills holes (tapholes) into the sugar maple trees and inserts taps or spiles into the holes. Sap drips into buckets hung on the trees or into hoses that lead directly to the evaporator. The evaporator is a large metal pan in which the sap is boiled down in the sugar shack.

We were a little disappointed because my mom called two times to make sure that we could take the tour on Easter and that the gift shop would be open. It was quite a long drive for us to drive all the way there just to shop in the small store. Their products are delicious though.
