Kyoto

This is my second trip and I have to say Kyoto is my favorite place to go in Kearney so far, hands down. The restaurant is always clean, the staff is professional & friendly, and the hibachi chefs are top notch. My first time I sat at the grill and ordered sashimi and sushi in addition to my meal and it was excellent. My tempura today was light and crispy. I'm a Florida girl and miss my fresh seafood. I'm very impressed with Kyoto. Do recommend.

I enjoyed the performance during the chef making our meal. Great entertainment. But our waitress wasn't very friendly snatching and being a little rude. However the other guest and my party enjoyed great conversation and entertained ourselves during our chef presentation.

I was very pleased to come here. I sat at the sushi bar since I was alone. the staff was very friendly and make me feel special. I sat and watched the people make the sushi. They made the sushi with such pleasure. The presentation was on point. I heard the noise from the dinning room. There was such laughter. I heard the staff sing to a birthday party, and it sounded fun. The whole experience made me smile. I will definitely be coming back as soon as I can. The pricing was very reasonable. As I've been to other sushi places. I only wish I hadn't lost my phone just before I got there. Sonic could have taken pictures

The only good thing about our visit was the food everything about the service was awful. Greeters were very rude to my husband because I took out baby to the bathroom to change him. We were seated and basically forgotten about. Our waiter assumed we couldn’t eat what we were ordering was very pushy about how much food we were trying to order( which isn’t an abnormal amount for our family of 4) and then didn’t ever put in the order for half of it. And when he delivered what food he did put back for he decided it was a good idea to try to tell my husband how much food he had when all he placed in front of him was a plate of sushi and my older sons food . Never got refills either and at the end assumes we had messed up on his tip because it wasn’t to his liking apparently but as an exwaitress you get what you work for.

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. I have come in here on a few occasions once the world opened back up. At first, all employees were wearing masks. HOWEVER, the most recent time I came in was when the City of Kearney lifted their mask mandate. On Kyoto's door is posted a sign in which they require guests to wear a mask. I happily complied. Once stepping inside though, I was quick to see a lobby full of people without masks on and TWO employees not wearing a mask. Those two employees were male and one of them was the bartender and the other was an older looking man. During a time of crises, one would assume they would be following CDC guidelines and not their local/city laws. Truly a negative in my book, and many others will be hearing from me.
