AMITA Health St. Mary's Hospital Kankakee

St Mary’s billing department is an absolute joke. They will not work with you when it comes to payment arrangements. They claim that you have to setup multiple payments, for each bill that comes in for each test/procedure, that you have had. Instead of just putting it all on one payment. Now leaving me “the patient” with 3 payment plans that are out of my budget, each month. And their answer is always “sign up for financial assistance” which is always magically denied. Save yourself the hassle and go to Riverside. They will work with you, when it comes to payment plans, and not make you pay 3 separate payments, or more each month.

Ive been sitting in this ER room since 9pm.... Got blood work and and x ray first 30 min.. Haven't seen not 1 Doc or PA since then.. Its now 2am... SMH... STILL WAITING.... JUST WALKED OUT AFTER 5HR AND NOT BEING SEEN...

I was at hospital today to see my dr and they had a covid test site. When I asked to have a test I was informed I had to have a doctors permission. There wasn't person there besides me I called administration to complain and was told that it was thier policy. We are in the middle of a pandemic and I have to have a drs permission to BE TESTED. WHAT A JOKE

Shame on you St Mary's for judging someone. My girlfriend was found to have pnemonia on the initial visit. Given pain meds and antibiotic and sent home. I was happy with the level of care at that visit. The second visit was very different. She doesn't live here so she couldn't follow up with anyone and being in misery for 3 days and unable to drive home we decided to go back to the ER. The admitting nurse was very rude to begin with snottily telling her she should of followed up with her own doctor basically instead of coming back. I was under the impression when you're worse and you have no other options you go to the ER. Upon exam she is asked why she is down here and when she is going back? Not sure what relivance those questions have to her being worse than she was 3 days ago. Oh, because you have made it up in your mind that she is now just a drug seeking junkie since the next question involved how many pain pills you had left despite being in worse pain than she was on the initial visit and running a 100+ fever which wasn't present before. And when I drive 30 minutes round trip to get the remaining pain meds to prove she wasn't just seeking more that fact doesn't matter now. You tell her to tell me to stay outside and just discharge her with more pain meds instead of actually doing anything and tell her it wont be refilled again. FYI. she hasnt even finished the first pain med script because she can't stomach them any longer which you would have known if you had listened.

I wish I could give zero stars! I am disgusted with how poorly my mother’s situation was handled when going to this ER! They only tried to get her in and out as fast as they could and didn’t take the time to properly handle the situation. My mom was referred to the ER through her doctor due to the issue being serious and the only thing the ER person my mom saw did was write her scripts. Use your time wisely and just go to Riverside this hospital is horrible. Very disappointed.
