Riverside Medical Center

I am currently a resident on The rehab unit after a complicated back surgery last week. I must say my treatment has been outstanding from the nurses, personal care assistants, occupational and physical therapy staff. I am impressed with the caring of the staff across the board. It’s a difficult thing to make all happy but from my view all are sweet and caring. The personal caregivers are the backbone of any hospital staff. When I am at my lowest they treat me with respect. Heath is the great equalizer of people and if you live long enough you will one day need one of these great kids to do the most basic needs for you. So happy we are covered in this community with such young people.

I am currently unhappy with the behavior of the staff at this hospital. Down from the people answering the phones to the care from the doctors.nnI seek out help for my daughter, my husband and myself are treated as we are the bad guys when you ask a question they are very uncooperative. They don’t give two flying you know what about peoples kids in a situation and they make it worse. We as the parents and them as the staff should work together to formulate a plan. Unfortunately five days have went by and only heard from the doctor once every time I call my blood pressure gets high because the nurses or the assistance are ignorant. I find out that my daughter is afraid for her life up in the floor that she is on and when I bring it to the nurses attention and asked to change the room there is nothing that they can do. When I asked about how many days that she’s going to be there they lie to me. Considering that my insurance only confirmed five days to be in the hospital , unless they have a reasonable explanation for keeping her the insurance will no longer Extend her stay. I am now waiting for somebody from the hospital to respond to me about a complaint I hope by complaining to them and writing a post hear others will think before coming to this hospital. My first experience here has been awful. I have four children every single one of them have something going on with them I have had my kids at the university of Chicago Leola Christ Hospital Palos Hospital Silver Cross Saint Joe’s never been treated like I have at this hospital. One of my children were in the hospital after surgery for over a month and had the best cure at the University of Chicago staff was wonderful never complain. Here it has been a nightmare I had to drive up twice to bring shampoo and conditioner because someone dumped out her belongings. That is not acceptable she cannot have hospital have hospital shampoo due to celiac disease sometimes gluten is in shampoo as people don’t realize that there is. As a parent I have to protect my kids. I do not recommend this hospital for anything.

0 stars. Very disappointed in the care my mom received while she was there for 10 days. Unresponsive nurses that took over 40 minutes to respond to her lights. They never offered to clean her. She came home from the hospital in worse condition than when she went in. Did not address medical concerns whatsoever. My mom almost died because of their lack of expertise. Something needs to change at Riverside ASAP.

The very best hospital around to go to. Very quick to assess you and get you comfortable. There is no delay in patient care and they are an incredibly friendly staff.

Currently in a padded room right now because this hospital would not leave me leave. I came here just looking for a professional to talk about problems with. Couldn’t find a therapist with an open schedule, so I came here. Big mistake. They treated me like a criminal the entire time. Their counselor “evaluated” me, lied on the report, and had me on major suicide watch. I came here on my own free will, and when I tried to leave, I was tackled and man handled. It wasn’t until the actual professional came in and finally cleared me from suicide watch, But still wants me in the mental hospital. They’re all just looking for ways to make money. They do not care about your well beingsnn**edit for updatenWould just like to add that after 2 days in a mental hospital, they let me go (who would’ve thought I was telling the truth about NOT being suicidal?), and after calling and speaking with the CEO, they basically told me to get a lawyer or get over it. Their “professional staff” does not make mistakes. I asked for the phone conversation between me and the evaluation nurse who deemed me suicidal, she simply said “we don’t do that”. I’m currently looking into lawyers. Stay away from this hospital, have heard good things from the other hospital that’s literally across the street
