Kindred Hospital Chicago Northlake

Nice staff, clean hospital. It was easy working with them as a team. Stay on top of your family members medical needs and make sure they are being met and watch their body language no matter where you decide to send them for recovery.

I have been so pleased with the care Kindred has given my mom. They keep me informed and my mom continues to improve. To not be able to see my mom in person, due to the pandemic, has forced me to put more trust in caretakers than I've had to in the past. Kindred is up to the responsibility. Thank heavens for essential workers!

My mother has been at Kindred twice this year, the staff have been great. It has been difficult with limited visiting hours due to the pandemic, but the staff made it possible to do video chats with my mom when in-person visits were not possible. On the times I have visited, safety precautions were followed, and the staff was welcoming. I could tell my mother had a good rapport with many of the nurses, therapists, and support staff she interacted with, they were often joking around together when I saw them interact. My mom said the food left something to be desired, but there was a decent variety offered. The facility does feel a little dated, but not outdated, some of the rooms are extremely small with barely any space for a chair beside the bed, but others appear to be more spacious. Most importantly, I feel that the level of care my mother received has been good and has aided in her recovery.

I would like to thank everyone at Kindred Northlake. My father was admitted to this facility after spending a month in an ICU suffering from covid19. He had been placed on a ventilator and given only a small chance to recover. From the time he arrived at Kindred Northlake the process of weaning off the ventilator began. Throughout the entirety of his stay the communication from doctors, nurses and staff and administrators was better than I could have even hoped for. No question went unanswered. Communication and aggressively weaning off the ventilator was our families primary goal for my father, so he would be given a chance to return to a normal life.This is a difficult process and the doctors at Kindred will speak with you honestly while doing everything possible to achieve the path to recovery. After a 3 week process They great team at Kindred Northlake was able to wean my father off the ventilator. And of the trach the following week. After nearly 7 weeks on a ventilator with severe covid my father has now been released to a rehabilitation hospital where he has taken his first steps and hopes to be home in a month in time for his 73rd birthday! The road to recovery will still be a process but without the decision to choose Kindred Northlake I don't think his getting back to a normal life would even be a possibility. It has taken a lot of faith and hope and all the expertise that the Kindred hospital worked tirelessly to provide our family. I give this place a million thanks and a million stars.

My dad is currently there after a long, lenthy course of being sick. The nurses and doctors have gone above and beyond in there care for him. Being a healthcare provider myself, I can honestly say with reassurance that they are quality providers and care about your family member getting better. I am forever grateful and humbled by there empathy and care of my father. I would not hesitate to refer patients to this facility. Thank you Kindred!
