Very friendly staff, felt comfortable with the Cna and nurses that took care of me. The doctors are also friendly and took the time to explain what procedure they had to do for me. Keep up the good work.
If I could give negative stars I would. They said in order to get test results for MRI they gave me, I had to stay overnight and submit to more tests. These people are crooks and scare mongers! STAY AWAY! Shame on my Loyola doctor for recommending this he**hole.
Usually don’t do these reviews. Last Feb just before the Covid restrictions started, had knee replacement surgery. Staff was so attentive! Today had my 1st Covid shot, everyone was so gracious & helpful.
April 5th 2021nI went into the emergency room for gallbladder pain and got admitted to get surgery.nI don’t write many reviews, but I received nothing but neglect from nurse JAILENE on the 5th floor. Monday night, April 5, 2021 Room #536. This was my first time at this hospital. Everything was perfect until after surgery.nI was taken up to my room and introduced to JAILENE the nurse for the night. She was extremely careless for absolutely every single one of my needs. At around 7:45pm I was taken up from surgery, got settled in my bed. I was still a little loopy and had no energy. Once the anesthesia started to wear off, I realized I was having a lot of chest pressure and was struggling to exhale. I let me nurse JAILENE know. She checked my oxygen and said she didn’t know what it could be.nI realized when I shifted to my side, and wasn’t completely on my back, I had a little relief. I asked her if she could get me a couple pillows for my back, her reply was “let me go look for pillows, I don’t think we have any”. She then left the room. I patiently waited for about 15-20 minutes, holding MYSELF UP, RIGHT AFTER SURGERY. After some time I realized she wasn’t coming back any time soon. My body got to heavy for my arms and they went out from under me. I landed on my back and got hurt. My chest pain got worst. I began to panic. I realized the call button wasn’t anywhere near reach. My door was shut and I couldn’t raise my voice. I had to figure it out myself. I somehow gathered the strength to get my self all the way to the top of the bed and reach for the call button on the wall.nI called for help. A doctor came in right away. I asked for pillows for my back. She stepped out of the room for about 10 seconds and came back with 2 pillows and repositioned me. I explained to her what happened, and she apologized. I was just so grateful to have gotten some help that I made no fuss about it.
My husband recently had hip replacement at Lagrange hospital. The surgery went well. I was appalled that they wanted to discharge him the same day. He was allowed to stay an additional day because he needed dialysis the following day. I spoke to my husband and he told me repeatedly that all the staff wanted to do was get him out of the hospital. They were telling him that most people go home immediately and they had other patients waiting for a room. To add insult to injury they gave him too much insulin and fast acting. His glucose fell below 50. Instead of giving him OJ they were trying to force feed him packs of sugar. Finally gave him a can of coke. I finally spoke with the physician in charge and he was so condescending and rude. I explained that I had no help at home. I cannot carry, lift or assist my husband and that a rehab facility maybe beneficial for a week or so. On one hand the Dr said he would never send a patient home who was not ready on the other hand he told me how he had 15 patients that had hip replacement that week and they all went home within 1 day with the exception of my husband. He made excuses that rehab may not provide dialysis. He said he would check with social worker. I never heard from anyone. I called two days later. My husband was so drugged out he could not speak. They told me he was being discharges that day. Apparently the day before he was able to walk 15 steps with assistance to the elevator. Based on that it was determined he could come home. When they wheeled him to the car he could not lift his legs from the wheel chair much less stand. It took me, his nurse and a therapist to get him into the car. They asked if I had help at home I said no. They both looked at the ground because they knew he was not ready for discharging. I get home and had to call 911 for the fire department to get him in the house. Never ever will I take or recommend this hospital and if I had read the reviews I would have insisted hi surgeon place him in another hospital. Patient beware. There are other excellent hospitals in and around chicago. Unfortunately Lagrange is not one of them
