The Dockit

I was staying at the Cobblestone Inn and decided to eat at the Dockit next door. Wow am I glad I did! I splurged and ordered the prime rib and it was perfect. Most entrees come with a trip to a large salad bar, and I sampled five different items. They were all outstanding. (Note that they have a good selection of bottled beers but nothing on tap.)nnThe Dockit is a surprisingly good restaurant in a small rural Iowa city. I highly recommend it.

The dinning experience was amazing. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive making sure we had everything we needed. The prim rib was melt in your mouth tender and tasted wonderful. If you want a fantastic night out go to the Dockit.

Our server was fantastic. The food was really good. It had been awhile since we had visited.

We had reservations. As I walked in with my 2 crutches, she proceeds to see us all the way over on the east wall of the bar. As far as basically from the salad bar as possible. It took forever for our waiter to take our order. The food arrived in decent time, and shortly after, our waiter asked how things were. Then he ran away again. It took forever for me to get a drink refill. Then it took forever to get our ticket. You can't get table turnovers when you don't actually wait on the tables.

Good atmosphere, GREAT prime rib and steaks, big salad bar, very nice building and view of Black Hawk Lake.
