One of the best restaurants in Birmingham. It has probably the most special menu, with many small different plates. You must try the beef fat candle. The atmosphere is chic but casual and the staff is friendly and professional. If you haven't tried OvenBird, do yourself a favor.

We had an incredible experience at Ovenbird. The atmosphere is set to be warm and inviting, with lights hung across the trees and fire pits in the fall. We each ordered different drinks (some fall-inspired) that had incredible, distinct flavors. Upon ordering our first round of tapas, each dish came at the perfect time. Our server, G, was very intentional about giving us time to enjoy each dish. We started with the beef fat candle which we HIGHLY recommend. We ended with chocolate bread pudding.nnEvery aspect of our visit was ideal. Ovenbird is one of the best spots in Birmingham to enjoy not just a meal, but a dining experience. I recommend coming with a few friends as it is one of the best spots for large parties, especially with the social distancing between tables. We will absolutely be going back!

The food is 5 stars, I don't think there's another place in Alabama that comes close to this good of Spanish food. Everything we've had from here has been great, cocktails and wine included. The staff is pretty great as well. We've never had an unfriendly wait staff or hostess. The one sour point sometimes is the atmosphere. It can hurt the place especially when you are paying so much per plate. It mostly depends on where you sit and how many people are in your party. Because the inside place is so small, people who stand around the bar end up bumping into your table all the time, or worse you end up having to eat with some dude's butt hanging over your table. Again, not the most enticing atmosphere considering the money you pay for your meal. I've never seen the staff move people out of the area or manage the crowd in any way, so it's a gamble every time you eat there. It won't happen if you're not sitting at or near the bar, but it will if you do and it gets busy. Even now with social distancing it still happens. Still a great place to eat just a gamble of where you sit.

Wonder place for small plates and creative wines. Attentive service and fun atmosphere. Check out the patio on nice evening!
