I’m not going to mention names but I’ve never felt so uncared for by a doctor in my life. I went to the ER for severe pelvic pain. The ER doctor came in, asked what was wrong and then proceeded to ask me if I could come back in the morning because the ultrasound technicians were gone for the night. I was floored. My pain was debilitating mind you I have a toddler to care for which I couldn’t even do because of how much pain I was in. He told me the only option was a CT scan which he strongly advised against because I am of child bearing age and informed me the risks were to possibly develop cancer from the radiation. I said “well I need to know what’s wrong so I’ll take the CT scan” he turned away from me and as he walked out said “well okay”. I was hysterical. I panicked when I saw the machine. I cried and cried because i was treated so poorly. After the scan a nurse came in to speak with me. I can’t remember her name but she was so sweet and caring. She then allowed my husband to finally be with me because she herself had heard how the ER doctor had treated me. She offered me pain medication. NEVER the ER doctor. I got a shot of Torodol which did help my pain very much. When my results came in we were relieved to hear it was a cyst that had ruptured. However, not only did I have a ruptured cyst I was also dehydrated from not drinking enough fluids from being in so much pain. The ER doctor didn’t tell me this but one of the staff members did. The ER doctor didn’t ask me if I had any success with any otc medications because I had experienced bad pain in the past which I had informed him of. He wrote a script for ibuprofen. He didn’t tell me when to start taking it. But apparently from google taking ibuprofen while having taken Torodol is not recommended. My discharge papers spoke of “dysmenorrhea” which is painful periods. I was NOT on my period. My period wasn’t due for TWO more weeks. This pain is referred to as Mittelschmerz. Pain during ovulation which was more severe due to the cyst the size of a nickel on my ovary. So the old coot chummed up my pain to period cramps. I don’t get period cramps bad enough for otc medication such as ibuprofen or Motrin. I have an appointment with my OBGYN in April. I pray to God I’m taken seriously. No one should ever be in the amount of pain I was in and asked to come back!!!

Arguably the best hospital I've been to. Dr. Elder knows what he is doing when it comes to the ER. Nurses were amazing including this one nurse who went out of her way to make sure my stay was enjoyable as possible even made it fun.
