I was a patient here several years ago, and I wouldn't have thought to leave a review about my experience until I found the recent ones here, and it seems that nothing has changed. I waited weeks for someone to return my call requesting an intake. I was experiencing a mental health crisis at the time, and it took having someone advocate for me (with less tact and more force than I was capable of) to finally get in.nWhen I was finally paired with a counselor, it was pretty much useless. She showed little empathy, did not ask questions or seem interested when I spoke. She seemed to have no idea how to interact with me or address my needs. Sometimes she would just stare at me in silence for minutes at a time. I have social anxiety. Not exactly helpful. I would sometimes leave sessions feeling more depressed, confused, and anxious than when I came in. Also, I suspect that me sharing that I was queer and saying that I was experiencing harassment from the local church people may have affected the level of treatment I received.nI completely understand how understaffed and underfunded the mental health system is, especially in this area. However, for the sake of those that desperately need help, please try to find another option for your care. And advocate for better mental health funding and accountability in the behavior of their doctors.

We had 3 different people tell us they would take our insurance. So, we drive over an hour to get to Westbrook and they tell us they won't take our insurance and they won't help us.

So, is there a reason that no one can answer the phone or call back ? It says you'll call back same day if a message is left before 4pm but it's been 3 days of calling , 3 days of no answers and 3 days of no call backs

If I could, I would give Westbrook a NEGATIVE rating! We were referred to Westbrook as they were one of few the Rehabilitation Facilities who took our insurance. We spoke to someone from Westbrook on Thursday afternoon who told us to arrive on Friday and that they were opened from 8:00am to 7:00pm. We arrived at 6:00pm as we live 4 HOURS away. We had to make arrangements earlier Friday morning including arranging leave from work, getting finances in order, and securing our property as this would be an 8 hour ROUND TRIP minimally. Due to heavy traffic on the interstate, we arrived at 6:00pm and it stated on the door that they were closed at 5:00pm on Friday, not 7:00pm as the representative from Westbrook informed us. I could not reach anyone other than the operator who informed us (after she was advised by someone from Westbrook) to go to the hospital in Parkersburg where a representative from Westbrook would do intake there prior to bringing our loved one to Westbrook. We arrived at the hospital and went through the initial medical clearances. When Westbrook was contacted, they stated that they had one bed opened but had to wait until Saturday morning and told us to return to the Emergency Room as it was procedural to do the medical intake prior to arriving at the facility. It was 10:00pm by the time we found this information out. I did not anticipate staying the night in Parkersburg and had no clothing, toiletries, or arrangements for lodging lined up! I had to buy items such as clothing, toiletries, etc... in addition to booking a hotel last minute! ($250 total!) Saturday morning, we went through the same procedure again in the ER (emergency room), after four hours between multiple members of the hospital staff and myself contacting Westbrook, we were given the runaround and told that the bed that was opened for our loved one was taken the previous evening AFTER Westbrook informed us that we had a secure bed! The staff at Camden Clark Hospital in Parkersburg were phenomenal! However, Westbrook was very inefficient and misinformed us from the moment we spoke to them on Thursday. This trip alone has been a financial hardship, not to mention the time wasted by inaccurate information given by all involved at Westbrook. I have contacted my local congressmen to remedy this matter.
