Droctors and Nurse's do a good job. PCT'S and Therapist do an excellent job taking care of you there. BUT THE SOCIAL WORKING DEPARTMENT NEEDS SOME WORK.

I was very impressed with the treatment at UVSH. All the staff were very courteous and eager to help any way possible. My healing was their greatest concern.

If I could I would give this place nagitive stars. Nothing and I mean nothing we was told was or is true. My father is a simple man, they talk over him when he's trying to say things, he's been here for a couple weeks and has not moved forward one bit in his recovery. The set him in a wheel chair not a chair a wheel chair all day. They tied him to the toilet and left him there for hours. You walk in this place and all or most the lazy nurses and staff are standing around laughing and joking with each other but not the patients. They don't have time for that. The doctors are little to be seen. Meaning after 2 weeks of me asking to speak with him I finally waited all day and finally seen him again talked over you don't care what you or the patients have to say. He's smart he's got the schooling and you will not tell him different. Who cares that I been 100% his care giver for the last nine months. They treat him so horrible he was crying and he don't usually cry. I will be getting him out of there tomorrow. Would have today but other places was already close to except new patients. He has stitches in that should have been removed not by a couple days but more then a week ago. They only thing nice I can say about this place is they do change one wound daily one out of the 3 huge ones he has. And the op therapist is wonderful as well very kind and cares about her job. Front desk lady's are sweet too. But nurses seem like if they have to be bothered they are mad. And the red head. Is mouth and ignort and no worry she won't move her lazy butt for more the 5 hours. But if you are crying and upset asking to talk to the case manager she will be just as rude and snappy as can be. To that all I can say is if you hate your job/life/yourself that much don't work around people. This place isn't a place for loved ones if you care about them at all DO NOT PLACE THEM HERE EVER. I could say more but you get the point. Horrible place not even your dead dog belongs here not even for a day.

Posted on behalf of patient Bill F Ana, PCT, was excellent. Putting up with me was a chore. Can't praise her enough.

I spent 5+ yrs living with & caring for my father w/ Alzheimers. Emotions were oftentimes close to the surface as I watched him suffer thru his different issues. Sometimes it might have been very easy to put blame on or be frustrated w/ any of the nurses involved in his care or the facilities he stayed in. Anywhere u go, there will be a variety of the care you or your loved ones receive. I watch the nurses & staff @ this facility ea week. I know the staff @ UVSH. They are caring & kind individuals, & care deeply for the patients there. I watch them carry the worry & concern for those they care for home, & they come back, day after day, to do it again, even when sometimes it is hard & heartbreaking. They feel what you are feeling & care about the weight family members carry while their loved ones are hospitalized. From maintenance, to housekeeping, from kitchen & dietary to case management, PT, OT, CS, RT, Admissions, administrative, Nurse Director & nurse Mgr., Drs., nurses, TTs & PCTs, there are some of the GREATEST people I've watched work & perform their duties. I am proud to know the people who care for patients @ UVSH. (Remember, they have families & worries & sick children/parents & troubles like everyone else.) Let's just all be kind to one another.
