I recently visited the emergency room this past Sunday on April 4th of 21. I took my son in for a possible broken elbow and ended up walking out with the CPS case. My son is on the autism spectrum disorder and if anyone knows or has dealt or has properly been trained to deal with autistic people they would know that their communication is not up to par as what would be considered a normal or typical person. Because my son was pushed out of the way when he was about to charge at his stepmother while she was holding his infant sister he fell and ended up with a broken bone. He explained this to the emergency room nurse that night and she of course called the resource officer for the hospital. The resource officer found out the situation that occurred and I can tell that he's been trained on how to deal with autistic children because he said there and talk to my child about his actions and how it was unacceptable and how it can end him up and chill or prison because he would have assaulted his stepmother and his infant sister. an hour after the resource officer left the room you could loudly hear this nurse giving out my information to Child protective services stating that she believes that we rehearsed the story and that she could tell that he clearly been rehearsed. Now I want to know what autistic person can articulate themselves to the level that again a normal person would be able to. Autistic people are extremely uncomfortable with eye contact and you have to pull information out of them. But anyone that's been properly trained on that would know to do it. So I highly suggest that this hospital fully trained their staff on how to deal with autistic people, learn how not to sit there and bless people's personal information so that the entire emergency room could hear, and stop making unbiased CPS claims to where now I'm at risk of not losing one but both of my children because she wanted to sit there and believe what she wanted to believe and not sit here and listen to what he had to say. I understand that there's laws and regulations about reporting abuse to CPS but after being told that he was autistic before even being told what happened to him is an issue. I will be sure to be following up with the HR department behind this and I'm also going to contact every new station that I can think of locally statewide and internationally to make sure that I can get this recognized by the people to not take your children to Methodist in Richardson or just not to trust the hospital. Because look at how they treat people who actually go in for the right thing. I'm sure if there would have been an actual abuse case in there because she was so worried about what was going on in my room and not wanting to listen and take into consideration whenever you're speaking to an autistic person that is not going to sound like you want it to sound to move on.nLike you have my autistic child over here worried that he's about to be taken away from both of his parents and all of his siblings. That all of his siblings are about to be ripped away from their homes and separated. What kind of s*** do y'all f****** go through to think that that's acceptable to have a child leaving a hospital thinking that. Now he doesn't even want to go to the doctor anymore because he's afraid s*** like this is going to happen every time. And I'm sorry for the curse words and that's why they're blanked out but I'm just that upset.nNo one takes into consideration that my son sat there and told the officer on his own in his own words that he was at fault and that he deserved what happened since he was about to attack his stepmother while she was holding his infant sister. So if an autistic teenager can recognize that I don't get why you're should be trained on how to deal with all kinds of special needs, medical conditions, whatever is coming through that hospital should be trained on how to recognize what is what. But you clearly need to retrain these people.

Nurse Jojo and Dr. Garrett took great care of me they came in and got to the point and Dr. Garret didn’t charge me for a bunch of test I didn’t need. Overall great experience!

The doctor that supposedly performed a procedure on my father, based on the bill that I received looked like it was never done. He died. He was also extremely rude to my sister while she explaining to us what was going on. I do not recommend this hospital. They have zero empathy. I will be getting his medical records to verify if the procedure had been completed. I would give this hospital a zero star if I could.nnI recommend going to any hospital other than this one!!! DO NOT GO!! PLEASE GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!

I love Methodist Richardson. My parent is currently hospitalized there and was there back in December for a different surgery. The care, compassion, and patience exhibited by the staff is truly amazing. It is like a home away from home. Thank you God so much for the staff at Methodist Richardson Medical Center.

I’ve been here 5 hours in the ER and I haven’t seen the doctor. I should go to a dentist but since the power outages with all this snow, none are open. I just need something to manage the pain until my appointment in 4 days from today.nnThis is beyond ridiculous.nnTo the owners response: I’d like to believe you but you do not prioritize your patients. During my 8 hour wait, I noticed a few things. People who came with a head injury still waited 3-4 hours. I understand head injuries are definitely a priority, it’s common sense. But it is an emergency room, your staff waits behind close doors as they talk and play on their phones. People were walking out in pain, looking to elsewhere because your staff does not deem their needs an “emergency”. Your staff is more tentative to those sleeping in the waiting room lobby than keeping track of people you haven’t helped.nnWe saw the dr for maybe all of 3 minting before finalizing my needs with a nurse who was amazing.nnAnd I know you have no idea why I was there because when I was finally called to a room, I was told to change! You clearly didn’t even know why I was there! It took 3 minutes for you to address my needs.nnMy point to all of this is, do better. And don’t “comfort” me with a blood pressure test every 3 hours I wait to make me feel like you’re doing something for me.
