I was scheduled for the COVID vaccine and I was told the location was outside the loop, which it was not...it was inside the loop. When I arrived I called and asked which entrance to go in; got out of the car, walking in, when the facility called me to say that they were not giving any COVID vaccines at this location which I pointed out that they are the ones who gave me the appointment. In fact I called earlier to confirm the appointment which they did. I asked why they didn't tell me when I called that morning and she replied that I didn't call their facility which I replied that it is the same number from which she was calling me. I reminded her that I drove here from Seguin to specifically get the Johnson-Johnson COVID vaccine which my surgeon's office @ 8300 Floyd Curl Drive provided me the phone number to their facility. Afterwards I called my surgeon's office and they checked with management who called and spoke to the same person @ the Shavano location and she informed the manager that they ran out of vaccine several days ago. Very, very, very poor organization skills...they didn't even bother to call me to cancel the appointment nor did they tell when I called that morning to confirm the appointment which they did confirm. Disgusted with poor service and inconsideration of patient's time/travel (90 miles)!

I can’t say enough about the staff and the doctors working at the Shavano office. I love the MyChart system as well. I realize it’s hard to speak to the doctor unless you make an appointment. However my doctor, Dr. Joyce Yuen has always made time to return my email.nnMyChart also stores your tests or labs. I personally tend to compare my current results to the previous ones. I do this to monitor myself. Anyway, at 67 years old I need a less complicated life. This office and the MyChart system makes life easier.
