Lewis Fence installed a 500 ft chain link fence in our back yard 5/21/2020-5/23/2020. In early September 2020, we noticed the vinyl flooring in our kitchen floating and went to inspect under our house to see if a pipe had burst. We found 8-10 inches of ground water under our home. We later learned that this was caused by a corrugated foundation drain pipe being blocked off by concrete. When Lewis fence installed the poles for our fence, they punctured the corrugated pipe and filled it with concrete, blocking water flow. After contacting Lewis fence regarding the issue, we were told they were not liable for the damages per our contract. This is not in the contract we have. I asked for their insurance information to file a claim and was told they did not have liability insurance. We had to replace the piping, rent fans and dehumidifiers to air out under our home, remove the vinyl flooring in our kitchen and treat for mold and replace the flooring. Howard Lewis was very rude and hung up on me when I informed him of these damages and took no ownership of his company’s mistake. I am very disappointed in his professionalism in handling this issue that has costs us thousands of dollars to fix.nnUpdate in response to reply: I would be happy to provide a copy of our contract. It only lists cable & sprinkler lines that the company is not liable for. While this was definitely a freak accident, the company chose to install on a very wet day. There was no push on our part to install after so much rain. Like so, it is the job of the company to carefully install posts near gutters and close to housing. With almost 30 years in business, we assumed this was the case. We have reputable contractors that we have worked with that will attest to this being the cause of our concerns. Our home is also not in a flood zone.

Howard Lewis and his crew did an excellent job! The black vinyl chain-link fence looks fantastic! Howard can talk the paint off the wall and I would highly recommend him to friends and family.

Howard communicated promptly and clearly, showed up on time, and did an excellent repair job on my fence. The work looks solid, and they were quick and respectful of my property. I am very pleased with the quality of the work, and I highly recommend!
