Be better off going to Charlotte for medical reasons.

I’m giving this place 2 stars only because I was seen very quickly. I came in because I had some weird bruising and a lump on my arm. Despite what I’m sure they thought, I had no idea how it got there. But I am a restaurant manager, so in that environment anything is possible, I suppose. But I wanted to be sure it wasn’t serious. Once they got me back they started asking me the usual questions. When asked, I immediately informed them that I was prescribed prescription pain medication for chronic back pain and some other issues. I have taking them for around 8 yrs now. Right away, their demeanor just completely changed. I told them that I was not there for any more medication. I didn’t need it right then, nor did I need any to take home because it wasn’t painful like that. I was just seriously worried because I had never had this happen before. The doctor came in and casually looked me over and said that I probably bruise easy, which is more than likely true. I’m not arguing the diagnosis. Then she preceded to walk out of the room. I asked her if I needed to wait for discharge papers and her response was, no you’re good. They didn’t even bother to take my insurance card. They probably figured I had no insurance or was on Medicaid. Which, even if either of those was true, it would not be an excuse to treat me like some addict off the street like they did. And if they didn’t take my insurance card, or print discharge papers, was I even considered a patient? If they had bothered to check any background information, they would have seen that I don’t go to the hospital a lot, especially this one. I haven’t been here in 10 yrs because then they told me I had a left sided sinus infection, when in reality I had a subarachnoid brain hemorrhage. If they had bothered with a urine sample, they would have seen my medication still in my system and no other kinds of drugs. I understand that they probably get a lot of what they call ‘drug seekers’ in there. I understand that my circumstances probably looked rather suspicious. But these places should keep an open mind and understand that sometimes even people who take the type of medication that I do, do so responsibly. And take it to have a quality of life. I couldn’t work if I didn’t take it. I don’t even like taking it. And when I come to a medical facility, maybe I’m just genuinely concerned for my health. Not there to get a prescription.

There was a few good staff, but it shouldn’t take 4 and a half hours to be treated. Especially just for a stomach virus.

This place does not care about patients. They treat everyone without insurance like drug addicts. They aren't even fully staffed to do tests on weekends. They sent me home with a fractured knee cap after a car wreck. They said it was just bruised. They never even examined it.
