An absolutely amazing experience. This was my first time ever going and the waitor was kind and went out of his way to help give me suggestions for my boyfriend and I on food. Reservations were easy and were made day of, and the entire staff seemed to be very happy making the atmosphere a great place to spend time with someone you care about. The food was AMAZING and so filling. Yes, its pricey but well worth it if you ask me, especially if you want to do it for special occasions.

My previous review was 5 stars. We have always enjoyed Cafe Rule, so we decided to spend Valentines day 2020 here. We spent $198 for one of the worst meals we have ever had. My salmon was decent, I was able to eat the half that was prepared as requested. The Brussels sprouts and focaccia bread were the best items served. I could not even slice into the torte for dessert and I noticed other patrons struggling to slice through the torte as well...it was several days old. I think a pix fixe menu is a bad idea here... very cheap ingredients. Stick to the regular menu and make a $200 meal for 2 people actually worth $200.

My husband and I just had a wonderful date night at Cafe Rule. The cocktails were delicious as was all of the food (try the popcorn ice cream, it is strange and scrumptious). Fantastic experience from start to finish. Our waitress, Ashlee, was also extremely kind and attentive.

Edited in light of pandemic precautions: All staff were masked, and there was a sign on the door asking patrons to wear masks unless seated at their table. However, there was no extra distance between tables, no tables blocked off, and therefore little to no chance of moving around while maintaining social distance. It was better than some restaurants are doing right now, but we didn't really feel comfortable. I wish they would open the patio, in spite of the weather, as I would much rather eat in my coat than in such close enclosed proximity to others. The food and service were excellent as always. We'll be back when things are safer!nnYay, Hickory finally has an awesome brunch spot! I've been to Cafe Rule for dinner, drinks, parties, etc; but their Sunday brunch is definitely the jewel in their crown. Any good brunch begins with a great mimosa, and this was the best I've had in memory. Follow it with inventive appetizers and entrees (delish chicken and waffles) and excellent service, and this is a meal/experience that really stands out. If you've been looking for a stellar Sunday brunch in Hickory, look no further than Cafe Rule.

This was my second time at Cafe Rule & Wine Bar and it was another great atmosphere and outing. The staff there was very attentive and all of the people dining were having a great relaxing time. If you haven't been I recommend going to just enjoy the good food, atmosphere, or a glass of wine.
