Absolutely incredible time at the Red Stag! We came for the lounge and so enjoyed the beautiful atmosphere and incredible service. The cocktails were lovely, and while we just ordered off the pub menu, the food was delicious and fresh, leaving us hoping to go to the main restaurant on our next trip. Thank you so much for such a wonderful evening!nnIt’s worth noting that the Valet driver at the front of the hotel turned us away, telling us that they weren’t even allowing a wait list or reservations at the lounge and that he’d been “told to turn everyone away for the entire night” because it was so crowded. While we drive a nice Nissan, it did stand out amongst the Tesla’s and Mercedes and we had to wonder if that was why. We had the best time here, but it’s disappointing to think that we almost didn’t. I ended up directly calling the restaurant and they were able to get us in a beautiful table within 10 minutes. We parked on the street this time and walked right in.
I had been wanting to try this restaurant since it opened, and was excited to finally try it. The two of us ate in the bar area because there were no tables available in the dining room, apparently for the day, as the hostess did not offer a later time slot. At least we had a window table... overlooking a McDonald's! The Red Stag is crazy expensive in my opinion. We ended up with a $50 lunch, and that was with pretty much the cheapest items on the menu. Hubby got a Ceaser's salad with grilled shrimp, said it was very good. He had to ask for more salad dressing, as it was dry. I also had to ask for mayonnaise for my bison burger; there was nothing on it except for some salad greens and a little goat cheese. That said, the flavor was very good, and the bun was fresh and buttery. The truffle fries were pretty good, and they served a generous portion. The servers were good, very friendly, but spread rather thin, which limited the amount of attention they were able to give us. They did bring pitchers of water and excellent coffee. The decor is nice, very unique in this part of the country. I don't know that I will go back, but it was an enjoyable experience.
Fantastic breakfast. Had the Southern breakfast. Wonderfully cooked with the best grits I've ever tasted. Rich, creamy, buttery and decadent. I expected it to cost more. Great place. Clean, great service, calm but energetic. Great place to get awake!
My husband and I were in Asheville for our anniversary and decided to try this place out...needless to say, we were NOT disappointed. The food was absolutely delicious and the service was excellent. Not only were we impressed with the flavor of each dish, we were also impressed with the presentation and the balance of each plate of food. I highly recommend the Red Stag Grill to anyone who is looking for a delicious and enjoyable experience. You will leave happier than you came. 10/10, five stars. ud83dudc4cud83dudc4cud83dudc4c
I have enjoyed 2 savory breakfast dishes there, so far. Everything is fine and delicious. The staff is excellent, kind, and attractive. Top notch! The atmosphere is very 19th century hunting lodge, like the name suggests!
