My family Recently moved to the area last March and we shortly found out I was pregnant with our second child.. I was told by a friend to make sure I got in the mercy network because of how good the doctors and hospital is. Well good is an understatement. My husband and I had the best experience with my doctor and the hospital. The nurses were top of the line and made us feel so important and we just had a good time with everyone from start to finish. My postpartum nurse even mailed me a card shortly after being discharged. This experience impacted our family in so many great ways!

There was absolutely no parking so make sure you give yourself plenty of time. But entering the hospital was organized and easy and they moved so quickly that there was no line. They do take temps upon entering and then they give you a visitor badge and point you in the direction you need to go. Everyone was polite and efficient!!

The best choice I've ever made was to have my son here. The nurses were great and they tended to me and my sons needs at all times. They were very patient and gentle and always made sure I was comfortable. They answered all questions I had and made sure I understood and taken care of before moving on to something else. To conclude, they made the birth of my son go so smoothly and I wouldn't change any of how it went for the world!

My wife and I are at Mercy’s Kirkwood, Mo facility where we just received our second coronavirus vaccination. The facility is outstanding and a perfect location for these procedures. It is very well organized with courteous and friendly staff members. The nurse who administered our “shots” has an absolutely positive attitude with the appropriate outlook on how we will all get through the pandemic.

It is unfortunate you have to leave a star. If I could give this hospital negative stars based on my loved one’s experience this weekend, I would. I believe the families of prisoners might be treated with more compassion than we were treated this weekend. My family member arrived at the hospital with severe mental health issues. We all thought it was best that she was hospitalized. Boy were we wrong. They did not explain she would not be hospitalized at the main Mercy hospital. As my dad left (no visitors due to COVID) they saw workers putting a coat on our family member and driving her away. When he called repeatedly for updates from a social worker, psychiatrist and the charge nurse, he could not get any information. I eventually called myself because my father was so distressed (he is going through prostate cancer treatment himself). I was treated extremely rudely by the charge nurse (who also refused to give her name because it is a mental health facility). It was only after frantic calls to our loved one’s psychiatrist (who is with SSM) that my dad was treated with more dignity and given more information. It is sad we had to get another doctor involved from another hospital system to get information about our own family member. Thank goodness for doctors that actually care. She was placed with a roommate (also without our permission). The workers have zero compassion and don't seem to care about the patients or their families (who should be viewed as partners in their care). Horrendous experience. I have never dealt with anyone at any mental health service that was as awful as that nurse. My family member said the nurses were not kind. It is a good thing I can't actually see the condition of the room, as I can't imagine what I would write. It is so sad that our society doesn't value or care about people with mental illness and that we strip them and their families of basic dignity.
