Our baby was in the NICU for 23 days. Dr William Chao is amazing. We had her at 33+6 weeks, & the feeding tube was the hardest part of our stay. It’s hard to say but don’t get discouraged!!!!

My daughter was born very premature and has been in the NICU for 5 weeks. I like how the rooms have breast pumps in them as well couches to make long stays comfortable. Most nurses and staff here are very nice and responsive; however, I have had a few issues with certain staff being rude and even negligent. I came in one evening to my sick baby laying in her feces for over 12 hours. I asked the nurse when was the last time she had a bowel movement and was told at 1am, but at 2:30pm the next evening I found evidence of the feces still all over the sheet that she was laying on top of. She is supposed to have a diaper change every 4 hours and be repositioned but this was clearly not the case. The nurse apologized and admitted that she was laying in her feces for such a long time but stated that she had not seen it the whole day. I made a request to the nurse supervisor that the particular nurse not be my baby nurse any longer and was told that she could not guarantee that but would investigate the situation and have a different supervisor follow up with me. The supervisor never reached so after two days I reached out again. The next nurse supervisor I talked to told me she doubted that this situation had ever taken place (although she was not present and has not even reached out to the nurse) and requested that next time it happened to call her so that she can assess the situation. It is obvious that the staff does not plan to take action and that due to understaffing issues cannot satisfy my request. I would recommend Children's Hospital because they have monitors in the baby's room to be able to watch them when you are away.

Our son was born very premature. We have been in the NICU for over 90 days with a lot more to come. Our primary nurses and the doctors have been the best part of our stay. If it weren’t for them, our son wouldn’t have made it this far.

My Daughter was born at 33 weeks and stayed 27 Days in mercy NICU i would give them at 5 star but we only ran into one issue where my daughter IV came out and they stuck her about a good 4-5 times before realizing she didn’t need her IV anymore but other than that i love that they made the rooms more comfy you had your own personal breast pump in the room and i really loved when it got closer to my baby getting discharged they move you up to PICU and those rooms you have your own personal bathroom, mini fridge, tv, and breast feeding moms can order room service. I feel like they should have at least at the room service on the NICU floor but it probably for a good reason they didn’t but overall our stay was amazing all of nurses were amazing Dr. Chow is amazing and my baby is 2 months now and is doing amazing
