The standard of care here is piss poor. The nurses will not come if you call for help. If they do, it will be 45+ minutes later. They are not friendly, your personal belongings will be stolen, and you won’t even be given basic human rights. I recommend staying away from this hospital at all costs.

My fil was transferred there after getting a tracheostomy (covid). They put him on a bed that had rails that wouldn’t stay up. My fil fell out of the bed and injured his hand/wrist. The staff told us that he tried to get out of the bed and was fighting the staff. As a result they restrained him as well. When my fil was able to talk he told us what happened. The staff straight up lied about the entire situation.

I have nothing but good things to say about my experience at the St. Charles location. My situation was, if not unique, certainly a rarity and they accommodated me completely. The doctors, nurses, techs, and physical therapists all helped to make what could have been a nightmare at least bearable anmost of the time pleasant ( even fun ). I won't attempt to list the names of everyone I wish to thank because I would unintentionally omit someone, so thank you all I will always remember you fondly

A lot of house cleaning and education to staff, building up a good team whose goals are to help patients gain independence and regain health while being an encouragement and a professional advocate! Staff round hourly and work as a team to ensure all patients needs are met. Management is helpful and listens to families needs/concerns and addresses situation immediately. Select has a great vent wean rate and does a good job with wound healing and physical therapy. This facility does take very critical patients though staffing ratios don’t always match that so at times it can be busy but staff are respectful and genuine.

Do not send ur loved one here! My mom is currently at the St. Charles MO location and she is receiving poor quality of care. My dad and I have complained to upper management multiple times. When we moved her from icu to here on her first night we felt like we were moving her into PRISON. The staff was so unprofessional with mismatched dirty scrubs, headphones in their ears, DIRTY furniture and tables in the rooms. It was so bad we didn’t know who to ask medical questions to because we couldn’t tell who was a nurse and who was a visitor. That night my moms HEART RATE got up to 230 and she told them to call my dad which they didn’t. We did complain and thankfully we have not seen many from that staff since. BUT We STILL have to constantly be there to be an advocate for my mom. She has Guillain Barré and can’t move herself so they are suppose to reposition her every 2 hours. Which is customary in the medical field to prevent bed sores. Doesn’t happen when we re there and definitely doesn’t happen when we’re not there. We hit the nurse call light and on average it takes 30 min to get someone in the room. A lot of the times it can take up to an hour. During shift change don’t plan on seeing anyone for at least 2 hours. EVERY NIGHT my mom gets stuck in the same position for 4 hours due to shift change. EVERY NIGHT I ask them to reposition her BEFORE shift change explaining that I understand shift change is a hectic time can we reposition before. And EVERY NIGHT they say yes we ll send someone in and NO ONE EVER COMES. We have to constantly put up a fight to get her repositioned every 2 hours. It’s gotten to the point where we ve been trying to do it ourselves.nnThey are suppose to come in the room every hour to hit a button light on the wall and check on the patient. More times than I can count the cna will come in NOT even LOOK at my mom, press the button and walk out. They do this when I’m there! My mom says they do it when I’m not there also. SHAME SHAME! If my mom gets this type of care and we re there all the time what type of care are the other patients getting who don’t have family or friends there advocating for them?!nnThankfully the therapists and doctors are good here which is why I gave one star. Or else I would have given 0.
