Rutherford Beach

Cleaner than last time I was there. The built a rock barrier out a little bit so part of the beach does not have waves. It was pretty peaceful today.

Beach Camping but pavilion and porta potty blown away from 2020 hurricanes. Watch for sandy spots were you drive, folks were getting stuck. The locals from Creole are friendly and helpful.

Quiet and beautiful place. Not necessarily the place you'd go for lounging in the sand and waves, but worth the trip.nTONS of shells, at some points the beach is made up of millions of tiny shells.nThere was a good amount of trash, but not excessive. Probably not too good of an idea to go barefoot though.nLots to see. Gators, jumping fish, a moving floor of crabs.nDefinitely worth the trip!

Nice place. After 2.5 months bicycling with a dog and 100lb trailer, Rutherford Park/Beach offered a place for a much needed rest. Outdoor showers, portable restrooms, and even a couple of electrical outlets at the pavilion for charging your devices. Bacteria warnings were posted for swimmers and it does not offer the white sand beaches like those east of Louisiana. No fees or reservations required. Closest fuel station/convenience store is 4 miles north in Creole, LA. Overall this is one of the best beach visits I've ever experienced.

Haven been since hurricane Laura or Delta previously this area had the best Red fishing in the area. I caught my personal best here.
