On Oct 9th 2020, I was emergency transferred from St Marys in Milwaukee on the Lake to Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center for spinal surgery to be performed by Dr.Ponds this would be surgery #3 on my spine. I have high respects for Dr. Ponds and his team at the Sheboygan clinic and Sheboygan memorial medical center with my experiences of my ailments of long term back issues that time n time again have been taken care of and always treated with the best experiences: from Dr. Ponds to his staff at the clinic, from admissions at the hospital, to CNAs, dietary, phlebotomy, radiology, operating room, recovery, to the nurses... everyone that had a part.nnLong story short, I needed spinal fusion and had lost almost complete function of my right leg and was in excruciating pain. I'm living in Milwaukee, but as Sheboygan will always be my home, on knowing of my third surgery needed to be done when I was in the ER at St Marys, they had called and consulted with Dr. Ponds on my past back surgeries and issues. He offered for me to come back to Sheboygan for emergency surgery as an option the same day. Other option is to have other surgeons at St Marys to do my surgery. I can trust no other but Dr.Ponds and his expertise and our history in how he has treated my ailments in the past. He and his team arranged for my surgery in sheboygan that same day. As I arrived back to sheboygan and Sheboygan Memorial medical center via ambulance from milwaukee, and with that being said I am also a nurse, I know they went to great lengths to make this happen and it was smooth. I had surgery later that evening. I know that it is not common for surgeries and operating rooms attendants and recovery to be scheduled into the evening as I came back to my room at 11pm that night n my surgery completed. Dr Ponds and his team went out of their way.nn6 week post op and I am graciously thanking everyone that had a part in my past and most recent stay. I've regained most my right leg functions and sensations back. I know I'm on the right track to recover fully and to continue to do what we all do every day as healthcare workers... and thats passion for healthcare and to care for patients that need us when they are most vulnerable in whatever kind of path or road they come to us. Thank you operating/recovery room staff, 4k, and thank you to Dr. Ponds entire team.
