I will give one star because I don't think you can give a 0! A person can never get through on the phone and Molina encourages you to use your Patient Portal. I would say at least 75% of the time the website is down so you are unable to get through by phone or email. I was rejected for an MRI for a condition my doctor deemed as serious and medically necessary, leaving both myself and my doctor scratching our heads. Molina requires you make your payment on time, but they do not allow for many procedures (medically necessary) even with timely payments to them. I initially purchased Molina because although their rates are high, they were slightly less than others offering health insurance. With high deductibles and their unwillingness to pay for procedures, the little premium savings are not worth it. Every doctor I have visited just shakes their head when I say I have Molina Health Care. The doctors are very familiar with the difficulties of working with Molina. Please consider other health insurance if you are shopping in a few weeks under open enrollment. I'll save you the hassle now!

Deductibles were so high they are unachievable for low income housing. I paid more for Molina health insurance this year then I spent at the hospital, ridiculous.

Signed up with this insurance through the health marketplace. I have only had this insurance for less than a month and am ready to dump it. First I never received my insurance cards so I requested a new one. Finally got both a few weeks later. They assigned me a doctor many miles from my home so I went on there web page to change. First attempt they said something went wrong and try later. Next day I was able to change. Went on there site again to pay my premium and guess what. Something went wrong try again in a couple of days. I did it over the phone. The worst is when I picked this insurance I made sure that they covered my inhaler. Well when I went to the pharmacy they said I needed a prior authorization and than i have to pay out of pocket until my deductible is met. In my opinion this isn’t a covered medication. Don’t take this insurance. Run away as fast as you can.

They have made payment online easier but they are extremely hard to work with. List items as converted whennmaking an insurance choice then making members go through back to back prederminations. Making medical care very difficult often having to pay out of pocket and paying for medical coverage at the same time.

Pathetic customer service. Preauthorization for medication ends up taking more than a week already. Suggesting I take over the counter medications instead that I CAN'T take due to another health problem. Changed my primary care doctor without my authorization and I had to fight to get it fixed. Every single time you call you get a person telling you something different. And you sit on hold often for 30 minutes or more. I would give zero stars if I could. Waste of time and money.
