It was here, where I began "treatment" with doctors, nurses, and counselors back in 1996. Till I left town in 2005, I had spent hundreds of dollars at Weight Watchers to reduce my weight from 218 to 160. Then after a trip to Houston, which landed me in a hospital where a doctor saw me and smiled and said, "Depakote," then, "Oops!" and disappeared. When I asked, someone said he had gone to another department. I then returned to Phoenix, and my weight suddenly went up to 238; I could not get into my underwear. I returned in 2015, and had gone in to complain about a patient who had been "treated" for some ten years to no avail. The guy was homeless. I heard in the passing a roommate of his died under suspicious circumstances. That patient had since then left town. A few days ago, I called to speak to a head nurse, Janis, who told me she had outlived three husbands. I was sent to a person who called himself "John" and claims that he had gone to NAU, where I had gone before. He said in a sickly sweet voice that he knew me (I certainly don't know who he is at all) He said I was due to come in for a shot. He said he is married with a child. I asked him why, he said, "I don't know." and I asked, to what intended outcome? and he again said, "I don't know." I explained that years ago that I had been there, I had ended up losing one job after another, couldn't afford to pay rent, and had car accidents. I did not want to go see "John". After I hanged up, I had horrible headaches, terrible pains in my nerves all over. It is a fact that students practice on white mice and dispense "medications" out of rote. The Guidance center don't know how to treat people with kindness and caring, or try to contact families and help them to make up and heal. The "Guidance Center" is a misnomer. The sell drugs.

Tgc has helped me in so many ways. I feel like I can and will rely on them regularly. Even during their renovation and COVID-19. I greatly appreciate the center now includes contact link in their phone message for the pharmacy. Now I do not have to memorize telephone numbers. The staff is available for help all the time. They are carrying and loving with what you need. I just lost my cat on Halloween and they were there for me as I was starting my grieving process. So I don’t know what you’re complaining about. I have gone to behavioral center here, Phoenix and Tucson and tgc is by far the best and most helpful. Thank you Guidance Center

I went to the detox center where all we did was sit in plastic recliners (mine was broken) and watch tv. They also had people in recliners in the hallway with no tv. I completed my 3 days and signed up for their services. I wanted to go to regular counseling and at my interview the woman said that I have to be off drugs if I wanted to go to counseling and I told her well I don’t want to go to the guidance center rehab (be of my experience) but was hoping my counselor would help me with looking into other ones but I got denied for counseling, but accepted for the other services that I wasn’t applying for.

The crisis line workers sighed and groaned when answering phone and taking my name. The nurse who prescribed me meds didn't have a real license so it took a month to get a refill after being on powerful meds for a month, causing serious problems with my thyroid. My energy levels will never be the same. Nearly impossible to get an appointment, useless staff. Just ask, how do you feel? Never helps navigate solutions.

Crisis line people sigh and groan when having to first answer phone and take down names. The nurse who prescribed me didn't have a license and it took about a month to get new meds after being on serious meds for a whole month, causing thyroid problems for me and my energy levels will never be the same. Rude staff. Nearly impossible to get appointments. Terrible service.
