The doctors were friendly and reassuring when I recently visited the emergency room. But they were NOT honest about all of my medical options. I wish I had driven to Phoenix for treatment and had a better outcome. Go to a better facility than this for better care
Edit: Contacting the Patient Relations department did not get me the surgery I needed when I first came to this hospital
Worst ER Department in Arizona and literally disappointing!! Waited, while 5 plus people were advance me in getting seen. A guy with a cut finger got seen before me. I threw up multiple times and was dehydrated due to having a severe migraine. I had pain where I felt my skull was splitting in half. Literally check in at 530 pm and just left at 9pm because the people who checked in after me were still in front of me. I decided to leave and they said they would get a doctor to check me before I left without getting seen?! Why?! You guys didn’t do anything for me?! Nothing!! I wasted over 3 hours when I should’ve just drove back to phx and get seen at a more professional medical facility. They were so concern with covid but there was a lady switching seats and touching everything. No one once came to clean the waiting area. I would recommend getting seen at a different ER and I’m not from Flagstaff! Funny thing the people who were waiting the longest we’re the non-white patients. One guys even said “your still here?!” I’m like yup 5 people went in front of me. He was the most kind and concern and apologized instead of the medical personal. Do Better Flagstaff Medical Center!
I was treated very poorly about some imports documents I left behind in the emergency room on a very traumatic night. When calling in I have been cut off, talked over, and transferred mid sentence. This over the phone staff is very very rude and obviously have not received any customer service training. Please work to treat your patients/customers better.
I would give them a minus if could. This is the worst experience i have ever had at this hospital. From the front desk nurse to the triage nurse. The only 2 people I have seen yet. Only one person in Er and 10 people waiting. The dr. Is coming out to the waiting room. Talking to patients where we can all hear. Doesnt that violate HIPAA laws . I have always give this hospital great reviews. They saved my life at one point. Im setting here watching how they treat everyone that walked here. It is despicable unbelievable rude. I have watch 2 people walk up to ask questions and they just wave there hand like they are shooing a fly away. This sadness me. I dont. Know what has changed but it sure as hell isnt for the good. The staff all seem like they hate there job and the patients I dont think they care if your dying or not.
-5/5 THE WORST HOSPITAL EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD! If I can sue this place I will. I came in with abdominal pain, concerned for appendicitis or an ovarian cyst, after I was encouraged to go to the ER from my insurance's 24-hour nurse line. Upon arrival I was in the "so-called" waiting room for what was about an 1.5 hours. The problem with the waiting room was that I was placed on a chair in a hallway that was not actually located in the waiting room, with several other people who had checked in at the ER. Once I finally got checked in to a room (still in a severe amount of pain), they explained to me the number of tests they would run. They drew my blood, put in an IV, gave me morphine, and I was left alone in a room, that felt like a prison cell, at the end of the hall, and was left alone for about an hour and 25 minutes. The first nurse I had was not friendly, did not check up on me, left my IV in and did not properly check my IV frequently (which resulted in the IV bag to draw blood back up into the tube). This I found out was done incorrectly after a new nurse came in and told me the previous nurse I was assigned didn't do her job correctly. After sitting in my room alone for over an hour, I was finally taken back to get an ultrasound. After that I was left alone in my room once again, with no nurse checking my stats, my health, or coming in to talk to me about my tests results. As the patient who is actually the one going through the pain, I felt completely out of the loop about my own health. After about 40 minutes, I was told to go see my physician, was recommended to see an OBG/YN and that there was nothing they could do for me there. I came in with CLEAR abdominal pain and issues and once I was discharged, I was told I was having simple pelvic pain and that I should treat any reoccurring pain with ibuprofen. Unless they forgot to explain to me and ask me about my pain specifically, I do not know how I checked in with abdominal pain and checked out with pelvic pain. The most disappointing and disrespectful part of this whole experience was that, before I was discharged, the nurse I originally was assigned left without me knowing and a new nurse was assigned to my case. This nurse was the worst nurse I have ever had in an Emergency Room. Not only did she hover over the bed I was in and speak to me like I was 5 years old, she made an insane amount of assumptions about origin of my pain. Specifically, she tried to suggest to me that my pain could be caused by an STD. So not only did my abdominal pain turn into pelvic pain, but the staff at this hospital made a reckless assumption about my previous sexual activity without asking me any standard questions about my sexual activity. Not only was that the most disrespectful assumption to be made, but that nurse then proceeded to suggest more possibilities of my diagnosis that have no correlation to the ACTUAL reason I came in to the ER in the first place. I was alone, crying, still having the same pain I originally came in with, and vulnerable, and this nurse continued on to tell me that the ER is for patients who have identifiable cases and "actual reasons". She had the audacity to tell me that my reason for coming in was not a justifiable reason and usage for the Emergency Room and made it clear to me that I wasted their time. However what makes ZERO sense to me is that, at the end of her belittling me, she recommended that if I continue to have this pain that I should come back in to the ER (HOW DOES THAT MAKE ANY SENSE). Unfortunately, google only lets you write so much (and there are many more red flags I could mention about this place) but all I can say is that the Flagstaff Medical Center is a fraud of a hospital and if you want to get quality care I beg you to find a different hospital.
