When we first moved to the area a year and a half ago, we visited the pub multiple times and loved it. However, the last 3 or 4 experiences we’ve had have been terrible enough that I doubt we will return. In one visit drinks sat empty for an hour while we waited over an hour and a half for our food, watching those around us come and go with their food and drinks. Sides for the dinner that eventually came (stuffing and potatoes) were COLD, and no apology was given for the wait. One fish dinner we received was completely unlike the orders we typically get, though we ordered the same thing, and another meal the haddock was too hard to even chew in places and ended up in the garbage. Today’s carry out order was submitted at the bar register by the time I got there, and couldn’t be found in the system. I was told it would be just 10 more minutes, instead of being honestly told the order was never submitted and hadn’t been started. Then I waited more than twice the length of time she told me it would take to be made, and things were forgotten in the order by the time I got home to eat it. There was no apology this occasion either. The restaurant was incredibly empty, so there wasn’t a busy crowd to blame. I don’t know what’s changed in the last 8 months, but we’re sad that we most likely will not be returning.

Absolutely terrible, had 4 dinners one being a double. Two haddock and two perch. All four where so over cooked that I question how anyone would think it's okay to allow this much food out of the kitchen in this quality. All 4 had so much batter and looked the exact same, was hads to see which was whatnI understand thing's happen, but for 4 dinners and one being doubled, There's absolutely no excuse all came out way overcooked and inedible. There wasn't many customers and I even waited for it, sad that noone apparently does quality control.

The meals and service were above our expectations. I really loved the ambience of this restaurant. Excellent restaurant to take the family out for lunch.
