This place is amazing! The yarn comes in so many pretty colors and the women who was working was amazingly nice! Can't wait to start my project!
I had been searching for over a year to find someone who could spin my finer micron Montadale without needing a “slick” blend fiber. Green Mountain delivered and a very short 3 months turn around. They even volunteered to pick up the fiber at SAFF which meant I only had to pay shipping one way. I am thrilled with my yarn and roving as well as the courtesy of the staff at Green Mountain Spinnery.
What makes this small yarn shop the best is that it is attached to a spinning mill where they produce all their own excellent, high-quality yarn. Taking in the fleece at one end, and spinning yarn at the other. Seeing the process is amazing - but maybe that is just the geek in me!
Wonderful place! Beautiful yarn and fiber, and I was able to take photos of the spinning frame and carding machine to show my students.
Whether you're looking for vibrant material for a wall tapestry or a knitting project, you'll find it hard to heave without multiple skeins of this beautiful, locally sourced fiber. Their sweet selection is any weaver's dream.
