Located on the main Street of Johnson, with easy access parking on street and behind the building. It has wheelchair access, which is great. Lovely old Victorian style building with a porch and rocking chairs. This store has a decent selection of fine arts materials, and is connected with the nearby Vermont Studio Center. Fun to peruse, which is always encouraged by the knowledgeable and very friendly staff. The staff also is helpful in acquiring supplies that aren't on premises. The prices are competitive, and very reasonable, especially for a small town and small store. This makes creating affordable.

Don't let the small size of this store fool you. They have a good selection of quality products, and the salesperson who helped me was knowledgable and offered to check in the back for a few items that he thought they should have but which weren't on display (probably sold out over the holidays). If you come from a big city, it might seem surprising to have an art supply store in a town of this size, but that's Vermont for you! I'm sure they do a good business with Vermont Studio Center nearby.

First time shopping in Johnson where the art shop is located...packed full of supplies! Reasonably priced stock. Bright, airy shop with many rooms of supplies. Owner was very accommodating when I asked for something not on the floor, he brought me alternatives and then found the item I was looking for in the back.nThe paper and canvas are by both sheet and rolls to be cut to whatever length needed. I especially liked the paint sample displays showing color and texture. Lots of brushes, paints, pastels, watercolors etc. Novice to professional grade and lots of other art goodies as well...a must go to shop for your supplies...
