The nicest and most welcoming family you could ever visit! True Vermonters to say the least. They put on a great spread of some home cooked maple recipes for open house weekend. On the short list in my opinion of who to buy your sugar from!

I'm not from the area, so I was in search of a sugar house to see first hand how the famous Vermont maple syrup gets made. I decided to just drive up towards the Burgess Sugarhouse and see what I could find. When I pulled up, Bill and Marsha were in the process of cleaning some of their equipment and obviously weren't really open for visitors, but when I walked up and asked about their operation, they were more than willing to give me a quick run through about how they run things. Very nice people with some deep roots in the area! They even invited me back later in the evening when they would actually be boiling the sap so I could see it in action. I highly recommend going to see them (though maybe give them a call first)!! I think I got lucky catching them out there like that...
