We had a fantastic experience here on a Saturday night. Patrick our bartender totally took care of us. He made some awesome Old Fashioned drinks. He was very attentive and recommend some great menu selections. Patrick also took the time to give us a tour of the distillery next door. I had the wing special which was very tasty and a Scotch Egg which was unusually delectable. The fries were also great, which were crispy on the outside and soft and creamy on the inside.

If you love wings, give theirs a try! Spicy but not overly so, crisp, a slight char, fall off the bone. They were cooked perfectly! If you like great beer, check it out. The double IPA was at the low end of ABV for a double, and the perfect blend of malt and hops, just fantastic. We can't wait to go back!

Loved the food and the beer! The tables were very comfortably spaced too. Lots of great beer options beyond ipas, but the NE DIPA I Know Kung Fu was fantastic!nnThe bierwurst, cauliflower steak and kids mac and cheese were really good. I would probably have kids split a mac and cheese next time, but we are happy with the leftovers!

From the beer, food, and distillery, Black Flannel is a great addition to Essex. The food is very good. I'm not a beer expert, but in my opinion the beer is great and is a very nice change from the IPA heavy breweries that are everywhere (though they do have a few IPA's.) I got to meet the distillery master and he has made some of the smoothest whiskey I've had. This place is definitely worth a visit.
