Marsh Tavern At the Equinox

This is tremendous place to eat! I always make sure to eat there when I’m in Vermont. I can say that the Shepherds Pie is honestly the best meal I’ve ever had in my life. I can’t get enough of that shepherds pie. I always get that when I eat there. It’s to die for! The staff and service is also great. It’s not that cheap of a restaurant, so be ready to pay. However, the shepherds pie is well worth it. I would totally recommend this restaurant (especially the shepherds pie) to anyone!

The servers were really nice. The food was great!! My husband says easily the best chicken pot pie of his life. If we go to Manchester again we will go back for sure!

At the Marsh Tavern, 10/10 later afternoon seating next to the fire place, our table was not even cleaned before sitting. So much for their thorough covid cleaning. The waitress didn’t appear for five minutes and we had to ask for a wipe down, which was perfunctory. Our drinks did not come until after the food. My wife’s medium hamburger was cooked well done. My burger was requested plain, and it came with cheese. Our drinks didn’t come before the meal. The kids milks didn’t come at all. Two of the meals came first and we had to wait five minutes for the other two. We witnessed other tables cleaned with mere wipe-downs of a cloth, no disinfectant sprays. Their Covid cleanings are a joke; one wonders if the rooms are cleaned just as poorly. No need to wonder, they are.

While the hotel is a cool place, I can’t believe the amount of plastic this restaurant gives patrons. I understand COVID difficulties, but come on. Water served in plastic cups in a swanky place like that?nnWalk down the street to the Kimpton Taconic Hotel for a more wholesome experience.

The pros. Friendly and accommodating service. We have a 7 month old and they were very helpful from bringing a high chair (although they forgot at first) to bringing hot water twice. Nice ambiance as well. Food was expensive, just ok for the hefty price and took forever to come out (40 minutes for apps and well over an hour for entrees). When it finally came the Salmon was cold.
