Its the off-season. And added to Covid, the town was practically shut down. Two places we searched on Google were closed when we got there.nnBut Vanderwendes was Open! The service was friendly and she gave us whopping portions of ice cream. They have a variety of flavors; the expected traditional ones and new age ones as well. The decor is super cute and I can only imagine it at peak times. Will definitely come again.

Such creamy, fresh, and tasty ice cream is a rarity to find but it's all here in so many great flavors. We enjoyed servings of our favorites in heaping scoopfuls of cherry, coconut, black raspberry, caramel pecan. So yummy! We didn't think we'd ever finish the overflowing cups of two scoops for each of us but the ice cream was so delicious, oh yes we did!

Ice cream is pretty good. Large servings. The checkout girl asks you how much tip and stares at you while you choose an amount from the screen and tell her which amount. She presses it for you on the screen and then signs your name with her finger for credit cards...how this is legal or the proper way to do things even in times of covid is beyond me. Check out process turned me off.

I told them I love chocolate more than peanut butter, they made a peanut butter heavy shake. ud83dude21 I pointed out that it was not dark enough to have a chocolate taste they threw in hot fudge, lol, which didnt help. Not Recommended unless you want entertainment not flavor. Where I come from all the ice cream is fresh and tasty and is not rare so this place is just entertainment.

Vanderwendes never dissappoints. One recommendation for the owner is to make the pretzel salad icecream a regular menu option. It is delicious!
