Let's get the bad things out of the way so I can highlight the good. First, I called to make a reservation because we had a larger party and folks that could not stand for long periods. When I called two days in advance, everything seemed fine. I even received a confirmation text an hour before our reservation. When we arrived at the restaurant, I was told I was marked as there, and now they would move us to the top of the waitlist. While standing there, another large group checks their position on the waitlist, and they are told they are at the top of the list. At this point, I'm learning this was a waitlist and not a reservation. After waiting an hour, sending a group member down the riverwalk to find a place to sit, and watching another large group get a table, we finally got to sit at a table.nnI must say, at this point, I did not expect even to care if the service or food was good. Our server, though, pretty much made up for a lot of the frustration trying to get our table. Even when our server made a mistake with the drinks, he corrected quickly and made it enjoyable.nnThe food and IPAs that we had were delicious. I misread the menu and thought I was getting sauteed onions. It was sauteed mushrooms. I am not a fan of mushrooms. But the overall taste was still enjoyable for my burger. I also tried the buffalo wings and nachos. All of which tasted great. I sampled a few of the IPAs and found a good variety of favors.nnOverall, I will admit I still enjoyed my visit. A little sour about the reservation confusion, but service and food left me satisfied at the end of our experience. I would recommend the Iron Hill Brewery to anyone in the area. Just understand how their waitlist system works.
My husband and I recently planned our rehearsal lunch at Iron Hill Brewery in Wilmington and we couldn't have asked for a better venue! We worked with Alyssa who made sure everything went as smoothly as possible. She was pleasure to work with and made planning a breeze despite current circumstances! The waiters/waitresses were courteous and polite. Our guests raved about the food-it was delicious! I highly recommend Iron Hill in Wilmington for events/rehearsals etc. :)
We had a reservation 2 weeks prior to coming but had to wait a half hour to be seated because the table we wanted was occupied. We requested to talk to a manager but were told that a table was suddenly available. After being seated, we didn’t get our food until an hour later and the birthday girl got her food last. After finally talking to the manager, she gave us the meal with a reduced price and we really appreciated our server Amanda. Overall the atmosphere is alright but the evening wasn’t soiled.
Something happen in kitchen, service slow and burger not cooked per instructions, sweet potato fries cold. They comped the food we only paid for drinks.
Had lunch here last week. Super disappointed. 2 of the 4 entrees were bad (1 was inedible). My daughter ordered the Vegetable Noodle Bowl. The noodles were under cooked and the shrimp was so overcooked they were mushy. My husband ordered pasta with a white sauce - I have a picture of the noodles swimming in watery sauce but can’t figure out how to post it! The sauce was like water and completely tasteless. I had the salmon which was delicious. We complained and the server removed the noodle bowl from the check. By the time we were able to flag down the waiter everyone else had finished eating so my daughter left the restaurant hungry. Completely unacceptable. Waiter never apologized or had a manager stop by the table. That, in and of itself, made me feel like they don’t care about their customers or if we return. The entire attitude was “well we removed one meal from the bill.” Dont they realize we didn’t come there to get a smaller tab - we actually wanted to EAT!??
