I wish I could give better news but it took three visits to this ER to get any help at all! If I were rating the ER on my third visit alone it would have been a 4.5 star. If I were rating Mercy hospital in general it would be a 4 star. But their ER needs MAJOR managerial improvements!!!!nnAll I can say is, if you HAVE to go in, try your hardest to go in the morning and do not go their at night unless your literally within an hour of dying.nnAll particulars of what went wrong will be forwarded to the appropriate administrator.

This is not related to any one event. I’ve been to the mercy ER 8 times in the last 3 years for kids who have been in my care. I’ve also been to the Baptist ER 4 times in the last year and half for other kids who have been in my care. At Baptist, I’ve never waited more than 20 minutes to get triaged and into a room. At Mercy, I’ve never waited less than 3 hours. I don’t know who’s fault it is, all I know Is that at one ER, I can get in and out in a very timely manner. At the other, it takes hours upon hours to get seen, regardless of waiting room traffic.nnIf you’re able to use Baptist, I recommend them over Mercy.

Brought daughter who was exposed to COVID-19 with sinus, ear, throat and upper respiratory symptoms and we sat in the ER for 3 hours without being seen. We watched as people with little to no symptoms, a swollen ankle, etc. went before us. We watched as the entire ER was cleared out 3 times and still not called back to a room. When asked how long it would be the receptionist stated that those people were taken to different parts of the ER and that they were waiting for a room to take her to that matched her signs and symptoms. I asked again how long before she would get a room and she stated she did not know. Worst ER experience so far. I'm still waiting in the waiting room for my daughter to be seen. This is such bullcrap!!! I guess they dont mind if everyone is exposed to COVID-19...

I wouldnt recommend going to mercy its pathetic, i called to see about how long the wait would be the lady that answered the phone is very unprofessional, she had an attitude about. I called cause there is something wrong with my leg and nobody knows what, she proceeded to tell me that it depends on if im dying or not...well I understand that if someone is dying you do all you can and that is more important anybody living under a rock would know that, but the was she handled the phone call was uncalled for. I am not really in the mood to sit in a waiting room which is what I told her, if im gonna sit there and wait I better come out with an answer as to whats wrong. So she then proceeded to tell me with an attitude almost as if she were yelling, and im sure if there was anybody in the waiting area they heard her, that if I thought it was an emergency to come in. I do believe its an emergency but they don't handle those very well apparently, ive been to the er already didnt get an answer, then went to urgent care got an answer but not sure if its the correct answer considering i supposed to be able to walk again in a few days and if not to go get an ultrasound. So I called and scheduled an appointment for my ultrasound with my pcp, which is also mercy, and of course they gotta try to guess what it is and then they will put in a referral, well been waiting on call for ultrasound appointment for 2 days now still nothing, so no i just wouldn't use them used to be the best hospital now turning into the worst. I just dont agree with the way she talks to people I understand its an emergency room and they are more than likely tired, but if thats the case grab youre bag and go home dont let the door hit you in the butt on the way out, theses nurses and doctors and even the gossipers at the front desk need to have compassion for their patients i mean after all they wouldnt get paid if we werent in there. I was in there a couple years ago with my mom, she was having a couple bad weeks well i happened to notice she was turning pale white she refused to even get out of bed cause she felt so bad, so i convince her to go to urgentcare where she was told she needed to go to the er and have a blood transfusion done within the next 48 hours or she would die. So he called ahead before we got there and they said they'd get her straight back and start the process we get there and we sat in tge waiting room for 12 hours, went to the desk and what do they say, we are sorry but there is people here with broke toes and stuff and we are just trying to clear them out cause there's not really anything we can do about that well then why didn't you tell them that when they walked through the door, but now I call and a couple years ago I guess I would have been brought right back to a room cause its nothing serious, and people that had life threatening problems were just left in the waiting room. Well they finally got that problem fixed now let's get rid of these worthless and rude people they have working there, i normally wouldnt do this or post anything but when my insurance is paying them for my visit they can at least have a little respect and treat their patients with compassion and care, but no thats not gonna happen guess im back to jumping through hoops like a circus poodle.
