This is one of the most rewarding jobs anyone could ask for. Across all departments, they are motivated to make each day the best it can be for each child. Staff receive a thorough training of lifting, transferring, and positioning procedures with Licensed Physical Therapists before they are ever cleared to work with our children. This is an interactive home-like environment that requires diligence and attention to detail.nnAs told during the interview process, this position is for people who are prepared to work hard for the sake of the comfort and care of our residents. The work load and expectations are stated very clearly during the orientation process, as well as the hands on training received after orientation. Staff are encouraged to communicate if they feel more training is needed or if the workload is overwhelming. Statements alleging false advertising or incomplete training are entirely unfounded.nnWe encourage you to interview with us to determine if it would be a good fit.nnHuman Resource Coordinator

I loved working for apf and providing care for the children but the supervisors are horrible and the management. They are understaffed and incapable of fulfilling EVERY single need for the children.

Working at APF is incredible! Everyone that works there loves the special children in their care. The children are talked to, taught, worked with by PT, OT, Speech and others. The staff care deeply about each child no matter the child's age or circumstance. I would highly recommend this place to any parent of a special needs child if the care of that child is more than they can handle.

Wouldn't recommend working here. Supervisors are not fit.

This place is False Advertisement. When given the tour they show you all the easy children to take care of. But once you have your set kids you have bigger kids that you weren't trained for. The staff is horrible. The pay isn't worth the work you are doing. Working here will want to make you end your career to working with children. The kids are adorable and grow on you but I would not recommend this as an option for a job.
