I recently had the unfortunate opportunity to visit the Hillsboro Medical Center emergency room at 2am. I was seen immediately, and was triaged and set up in a room with barely a delay. All the staff that I had interactions with were great - personable, professional, and had a great bedside manner. Although I wouldn't recommend having to go to any ER in the middle of the night, my experience at HMC ER was excellent.

Just had my granddaughter at the hospital. My daughter checked in Friday night at 9pm to be induced. I had called to check if more then one person was allowed in the room but was told no. But after her nurse came in the said that had changed and they could have a second. I think the changes are so fluid it's hard to get everyone on the same page. But I was excited. My daughter's first delivery at another hospital was pretty rough so she was nervous. But from the very beginning EVERYONE listened to her concerns and explained everything thing she had choices of and made plans as much as you can. She went from completely closed to dilated within 24hrs and had a very pain free beautiful experience and was alert unlike with her first. I believe the team she had with her was the greatest and biggest part of that besides God. She also did not end up with her OB so that was a little worrisome. But we had midwives Sally, Janelle and Carly finally delivered and was a huge part of all the information and decision my daughter made with her. Carly you ROCK. Calm, real, informative, and just a spirit made to help mothers through the birthing experience. Marlene the anesthiologist you are amazing. So much knowledge shared and quick and efficient. She did not even need to add anymore from the first dose and that was huge!nHer nurses were the best ever, calm, always checking on her, polite and great personalities. Heather T., Heather P. Nicole, Lori B., Mauqebes (?). And a special shout out to Markus(?) For fixing a moment for this tired and excited grandma going above and beyond. My daughter was good with one baby but did get preg with her second. She said if she knew they would all be like this she would have more. I got excited!! But a 3yr old boy and now a baby girl will fill this family along with half sisters and brothers. Thank you maternity staff! You are all very appreciated more then you may know by this family. Our little Peyton is doing well and says thank you ud83dudc97

My mom went to this hospital when she got sick. She was cold and asked for warm blankets for two days in which she never got, she asked for facial tissue to blow her nose and again she never got this. She had to actually put a request in to get even tolit paper! She had no problem going to the bathroom because of her sickness but yet they still gave her stool softner. She was told she would be released then had to sit and wait for over 4 hours. They gave her medication that she normally took at the wrong time of day so that caused problems as well. Family had called in several times a day to get her help with these items to no avail so we called her regular doctor and let him know at ohsu what was going on and he said he would send an E-mail to them to fix it and not sure if he actually did but it did not help. I believe my mom was targeted because of how sick she was that she would not cause a problem and they could just let her go. I will be doing my own investigation on this to find out exactly what happened and why this hospital should be retrained in the care of people. The other hospitals need to slow down on transferring other people here knowing this is the care they will recieve.nThere is also no excuses about covid-19. They should never receive medication they need at the wrong time, should never have to put a request in for tolit paper or facial tissue. Should never get stool softeners when they don't need it. Its as simple as knowing how to read period and following the chart, listening to the Patient! I can see slowness on the warm blankets she asked for but only for a few hours not days! There may be a miss communication that is why i am investigating my self to see what happened and why. Will change stars if i find out it was.
