This is an HDC. A home for intellectually challenged. Not wheelchair accessible at all and will not take any clients that are not amble. They are like a mini community almost like a town the clients have canteen where they can buy candy and cokes. They practice family style dinning and the clients all have their own jobs with fair pay for their work. They even have a rug shop. This is where the clients cut, tie, die, and hand weave rugs.these are some of the separate jobs the clients do and then the finished product is added to the small shop. Where people from all over the country come to buy these rugs. For approximately 20 or 25 dollars. You can special order rugs to be made specifically the color and size you would like. Their is a recycling mill here also. This is not just an HDC this is a home to the clients that live here and is like one very large family. A great place for your intellectually challenged loved ones to find a home.

This facility has a long history going back to the 1920s. Its historical buildings and grounds still serve people to this day. The setting is high on a ridge outside of town on a steep and winding road. It has a museum and sometimes a walking tour.
