A story on the current Health Care system -nA few weeks ago, I finally decide....enough is enough.....I am in pain every day, and while I can take an enormous amount of pain, it's exhausting.....and I am tired of hurting.....so...I make an appointment to see a doctor here in Tillamook.....I need something for the pain....anything....I dont need anything that will put me in a fog everyday, or make it so I can't function...( I am a work-a-holic...I gotta be able to work)...but, I need some help. I go in 2 weeks ago, tell this doctor about my knees, lower back, and arm/neck.......the arm/neck thing being the main focus right at this moment....he says...ok...well, lets put you on this - CYMBALTA - ok.....cuz, at this minute, I am willing to try just about anything.....I take it for 3 days....THREE DAYS.....in the 3 days, I had high heart rate at 105, the shakes, diarrhea, ZERO appetite, and horrible fatigue......now....I quit taking it, cuz, I have NEVER had a med of any kind give me a reaction...ever.......called the doctor...told him this is just not gonna work, he wants to cut it in 1/2.....ummm...no.....which part of those side effects/reactions did you not hear? Makes me wait 2 weeks to go back in to the office....to discuss what to try next....mean while...nothing else to help. I go back in there today....only to have this same doctor - no less than 5 frikkin times - try to get me to go ahead and try the 1/2 dose of the same med I had the reaction to.....hmm......getting kick backs much? the 30 day supply of this med is almost 400.00.....so...I have a bottle of this crap sitting here, that my ins paid for...going to waste. AND....by the end of the visit....honest to God....this doctor will not give me ANYTHING AT ALL for the pain....nothing....not even a referral to a pain doc......seriously? This is a doctor who has not even once looked at my knees, back, or neck/arm...never even came close enough to touch me for an exam....nothing....did not offer to do xrays, MRI....nothing.....I have NEVER been to a doctors office anywhere and been treated like this...ever....He actually acted like he was irritated because I would not go ahead and take the cymbalta.....and he actually said there is nothing else out there he can prescribe.....nI am on the verge of tears......
