We bought a DIY kitchen kit which was delivered while I was overseas. Because I did not open every box and check them for damage, freedom wanted to charge me another $520 + delivery + installation for the replacement parts which had been damaged during delivery. Quality of the DIY kitchen is average at best... Installer was very professional and neat. Freedom staff helpful and friendly.

My recent experience after purchasing both a kitchen and laundry from Freedom have fallen nothing short of an absolute disasternFeeling pressured to sign the dotted line from the design appointmentnThe communication through the kitchen hub is not user friendly and could leave any consumer open to error or ending up with a kitchen they didn’t understandnWhat they don’t tell you is, the cost doesn’t include installation and they don’t even install it!nThey give you a recommended supplier to install your kitchen and laundrynWe used the company recommended who have totally destroyed the installation and charged us $4000 for the pleasure!nNot only this, he suggested changes to our laundry design telling us what we picked wouldn’t fitnHis poor & incorrect advice (which we took assuming a trusted supplier) has now left us with a $15k laundry that we can’t use to even store an ironing board!!nWe’ve had to source another cabinet maker to try and help us resolve and repair the damage to both kitchen and laundry from the installnAfter raising a complaint with freedom and someone coming to discuss with still no outcome and no accountabilitynI would never ever recommend freedom kitchens and laundries to anyone!!!nHas left such a bad experience on something I was really excited to have new in our home

Decided to share my Freedom Kitchen experience today. We have had our kitchen for about two years now. Apart from some smaller issues with wrong shelving etc. there were no major problems. The installer was competent and did a good job. However, since the kitchen became functional we have had lots of problems Springs constantly breaking, no installer available to fix it, having to wait 2 months for new springs. BUT now the real issues are starting to show up. Our kitchen is white and the joins are all starting to turn yellow because their product is not uv stable. They replaced the edging with incorrect sized and coloured edging. I have had an installer here in my house for two days with resulting mess and inconvenience due to the fact that he had to hand file the edging down to the correct size. The longer we have the kitchen the more yellow it is going and I fear the only remedy is to have a new one installed. Good luck with getting that out of them. Court case perhaps? After all $22,000 is a lot of money to spend on a kitchen that lasts two years.

I would strongly suggest considering another service to renovate your kitchen. This is the highlight of our experience with Freedom Kitchen:n- When you contact them in the beginning, they're very friendly and organised to sell their service. They send you a designer to your place straight away. This was the last organised phase in our experience. The designer met with us in early November 2018, and the kitchen was done in late March 2019 after a lot of pressure from usn- You would think Freedom would do the project management for you but that is not the case. They would just refer you to some contractors and you have to discuss everything with them separately. Freedom only sales you the pack, after that you are on your ownn- The design had many mistakes. Some were corrected by the cabinet maker but some were not. For example, we bought the biggest microwave in the market and we still had 20 cm gap above the microwave. We had to pay someone later to cover the gapn- We asked for an undermount sink and that is documented in Freedom contract; however, the stone contractor built inset sink. The stone contractor was not aware of our contract with Freedom. One day they came over and got my wife sign some paperwork. We realised later they had my wife sign for an inset sink. My wife hadn't checked the whole document as she thought it wouldn't be against our contract with Freedom. Later when we contacted Freedom, they didn't really caren- When removing the old cabinets, they damaged the walls and didn't bother to cover the big holes they had made. We still have a big hole behind the kitchen, awaiting a plasterer to fix it
